Good value on Cable Beach

This hotel is in a transitional phase as the Bahamar resort is being constructed. The Sheraton offers competitive pricing with a good chunk of beach. The room was nor impressive. On the 6th floor the door frames showed signs that the structure had shifted; our door did not close very well. The room was dated and the pillows were of low quality. THe staff, though, was wonderful and helpful. I had plenty of beach time at another resort during the first half of my stay and used the Sheraton as a launching point for exploring downtown Nassau. The access to the Crystal Palace casino was a plus though the casino is small and limited. This is a good value option for those that want to spend time on the beach or explore downtown, but I wouldn't recommend it for those that want to stay at a place and never leave it. 2015 will be a different story, though, as the Bahamar will have a lot to offer and the Sheraton or Wyndam will be part of it.

Get breakfast at the cafe down the back steps of the lobby. Get lunch at at the fish fry, one of the cafes 3/4 of a mile west of the Sheraton, or at a downtown restaurant.

sheraton nassau bahamas 2013

the hotel was pretty nice i wish they had more options for food and a microwave in the room but besides that rooms were kept clean and staff was pleasant . i wish that when booking the trip on the website it stated the fee that had to be held upon arrival it was a surprise that before even checking in i had to give $160 for resort fees which came up to $40 a day it needs to be more clear to the consumer when booking their reservation with out the fee being payed you can lose your whole reservation .

looking for more for the price

Hotel seemed dated. Although you can't control the weather, when it rained the water didn't drain from our balcony. No entertainment at the hotel and the prices are ridiculous! Was told no taxes and prices are the way they are because they include the mark- up by the importer. Needless to say, they won't be stamping my passport again. Might be okay for cruise stop. Fish Fry section was decent, but also pricey.

Nassau May 2013

The hotel location and outdoor space were great. The interior of the hotel needs some updating, but small stuff like worn carpets. The room furnitings were good plenty of drawer space, bathroom was updated and sufficient. Always had clean room fresh towels. For our family of 4 the hotel was good prices of food a little high but everything in the Bahamas was a little expensive.

Mostly good but...

AMENITIES/STAFF: Pro's - Beautiful beach-front with several well-maintained pools. Free wi-fi in lobby, 3 computers available for free access. Managerial staff very friendly and appreciative. Front desk staff was also wonderful. Bellhops generally only helpful if you're using their valet service - don't expect them to hold the door or even look your way, unless you're obviously tipping them/using their services. Con's - $40/night for "resort fee" that they don't calculate into the total package when you book. They supposedly ran out of towels mid-afternoon, when the beach/chairs was over 80-90% empty!!! Not sure if the staff in the beach house was being lazy, but it's unheard of in my experience, for such a large chain charging extra "resort fees" per night to run out of basic essentials - especially for a beach resort. Also, whichever staff that answers the phone sounded like she needed some more training for reception - sure I called at 3am (see below), but sounding annoyed with an obnoxious "what?" is not the way to go at a supposed 4-star hotel/resort. ROOM: Pro's - Comfortable layout. Good space, comfortable bedding. Great veranda. Con's - Limited TV channels, but no big deal - you'll be busy being outside anyway. LOCATION: Pro's - Close enough to Paradise Island/Atlantis, downtown Nassau; far enough to get some peace and quiet. Especially great if you rent a car, although the jitneys run frequently enough. Free parking across the street; $10 valet. Con's - We literally woke up at 3am thinking there was a fire on the floor (it was that pungent and terrible) only to be told that they were "burning garbage and recycling at a nearby junkyard"). I don't know how close it is to the hotel, but looking out my balcony, I could literally see smoke like a fog rolling around in the front. We couldn't open windows, turn on the A/C, etc. Tried to sleep/not choke by using the covers as a sort of mask. Terrible. Despite all the pro's, unfortunately for this reason alone, I wouldn't stay here again.
