nice accommodations.

Hotel is clean and in a nice location. Room is on the small side. A number of roaches made a visit at night. Palmettos and some babies in the bathroom. Other than that it was nice. Would stay again.

Good quiet complex. Good class of guests mainly young families and couples. Good transportation to and from town by local bus. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. Good sized pools. Staff extremely helpful. Internet in lobby area easily available and worked well.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Hotel did not have a restaurant however a chef was available in the evening to prepare a meal on the beach. A great vacation experience.

pretty nice

nice overall, but the staff isn't terribly organized and you might expect some periodic maintenance issues in your room, particularly the plumbing...

Fabulous & romantic trip!

The staff is so friendly, everyone including security says hi. We even got an upgrade to the rooms with a jacuzzi which is the best way to stay at Sandyport! 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen! We went to the grocery store to buy some breakfast supplies. Note it gets pricey, so stick to basics like eggs, toast--we bought thin sliced whole wheat bagels--butter, milk, butter, fruit; Sandyport provides every kitchen accessory you'll need! They now have a $10 breakfast by the pool, where you can get eggs/toast or pancakes/eggs/sausage or bacon--just don't ask the chef for fruit or egg whites--unless you want a witty retort! Take advantage of the hammocks! About the only slight disadvantage is the distance from night entertainment at Cable Beach hotels as you'll have to cab it since the bus/jitneys stop running shortly after 6:00 PM. And it'd sure be nice if there was a continuous sidewalk to the P00p (I got a flagged with 'inappropriate language' for the actual spelling) Deck over the bridge but again these 2 things are beyond the control of SP.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The best "secret" and deal in the area is the Sivananda Yoga Retreat on PI, $10 get you a 5 minute boat ride AND a class, another $10 gets you a just as awesome vegetarian meal. Late Nov/early Dec are low season so we had practically everything to ourselves, including the pool! For pure romance, scooter over to Clifton Heritage National Park and walk the beaches. Bring a towel and a backpack with some picnic goodies for a time you soon won't forget, we literally had the beach to ourselves and we were there for 2 hours. Oh, when shopping at the grocery stores watch out for expiration dates. Apparently the stores aren't regulated to remove expired goodies from the shelves. And if you are a tall or big person, for the pool slide, you have to give yourself a big push and lay your whole body back and down. You'll make it the whole way!
