Sandyport Beaches Resort

The staff was excellent! They were very helpful and wanted to make sure we were having a great time. They were the best part of the Hotel for sure. The room was nice, big, and clean. However the water took about 5 minutes to warm up. It wouldn't stay hot enough to fill the jacuzzi up above your legs. We happened to hit a strange cold front, so we didn't use the pool or get to go on the beach more than one day. On our last night there the jacuzzi upstairs leaked and created this incessant dripping noise that kept me awake all night. We met some other people that said their room had leaked as well, and they were on the top floor. We happened to be there for the Junkanoo festival, and the restaurants were closed on the days we were there...bummer! We did eat at the Poop Deck the first night there, and the food was delicious! All and all it was an ok experience. Not the dream vacation I had hoped for, but at least it was cheap! Happy travels!

We arrived at the hotel Dec 25, 2010 around noon. The cost for a taxi ride was $17 to the hotel, the staff was very nice and friendly. We weren't allowed to check-in at noon, the check in time is 4PM. The room was nice and cozy, clean and the bed was just fine. The bathroom door didn't lock, also we weren't able to purchase any bottled water at the hotel.

The hotel was nice clean no bugs like I read about other places. The pool was fantastic for my kids. One pool had slides the other had sand which formed a beach at one end. Great for family fun with kids up to 7or8. I only saw two other people on the property in 3days of stay. There was much I the way of food. We ate at the convience store and the was two restraints within walking distance but they were pricy. The whole island had me in sticker shock. if The hotel could have offer continental breakfast to would be more convient. At checkout, they wanted to charge an addition $20/night even though I fully paid through orbits. This was for an energy surcharge. They also wanted a $8/day gratuity for the maid that showed up once during the stay. I told them to take it up with orbits. I am paid in full. Very awkward.

Sandy Beach Resorts is very clean and excellent customer service. We enjoyed the Sandy Port Beach located across the street from the Resort or you have the choice of the pool or beach that is located behind the resort. This Resort does not have a restaurant or eating facilities so you have to go off-site. I would recommend the Studio, which comes with a king-size bed, refrigerator, microwave. The Service Desk seems to close at approx. midnight and the reopens at 6:00 a.m. We experienced problems with the toilet flushing, but the staff took care of the problem. While I would recommend this Resort, my setbacks were the plumbing problem and no eating facilities on site. For breakfast my husband and I walked to Wendy's, which is in walking distance and there was a Super Saver Market (reasonable prices) where we picked up things we needed.

I really enjoyed our stay at SandyPort Beaches resort. We got more than expected. I was expecting a room with two beds. We got a small kitchen with everything needed to cook with. Fridge and microwave and a couch to watch TV. This was great since eating out in the Bahamas is so very expensive. We had a grocery store less than a half mile and a Wendey's. The area is so peacefull and relaxing. Bus 10 only costs $1.25, takes you right into town. The only MAJOR problem I had was the $20/day charge for electricity and the $8/day for maid service. [...] This was a unwelcomed surprize. An extra $252 we were not expecting.

This property is very nice and clean. It is off the main road which is nice. The name and the photos were a little deceiving. I thought this was a beach front, but the beach is actually on a bay. We had a minor comment for the management. There are coffee makers in the room, but there was no coffee available nor were there mugs, cups or glasses. We found this odd.

Most enjoyable vacation we have experienced together!

2 of us stayed only one night at Sandyport Beaches Resort for connecting the flight next morning. The room was big enough with two queen size beds, and shower & bathtub. But there is no amenity except soap, no hairdryer no coffee / tea pot, no shampoo nor conditioner. We didn't expect much, but we couldn't even wash our hair without hairdryer. Well, I'm sure other category rooms are equipped with everything but at least a hairdryer (there was the base part left on the bathroom wall though...) and shampoo should be there as 3 star hotel. Also we payed $28 for housekeeping fee & utility when we checked out. The only convenience is this place is just 10 minutes from Nassau airport !

un hôtel avec un très bon rapport qualité prix. Ce n'est pas un hôtel de luxe mais à ce prix, il n y a vraiment rien à dire ! Le personnel est vraiment très sympathique et aidant ! Seul bémol, cet hôtel n'est pas tout proche des commerces. Aussi, une voiture est quasi indispensable même si des taxis sont très facilement trouvables mais compte tenu du prix des courses... il convient de véritablement envisager la location d'une auto pour votre séjour
