Do not stay here!
Food was horrible, especially breakfast with the same thing everyday. Alcohol was only cheap house liquor along with only cheap Kalik beer. In the room, the running water was YELLOW color. Sink was clogged. The shower had about 4 strands of weak water flow. Bathroom door opened in a way that you cant even sit on the toilet seat while the toilet leaked on the floor. The employees at the hotel were always looking for TIPS, even though the hotel says "all gratuities included." If you don't tip them, they give you an "eye." Shows in the lobby were OKAY but never the shows shown on the schedule nor on time. We were with MAJESTIC TOURS representatives and they were pretty unorganized. Overall, dont stay at anything that has the word "harbour" in it. The man made"beach" (lenth of approx. 30 ft long) was full of trash like opened beer/soda cans and unknown green stuff on the bottom and it smelled like a sewer. The gym was an old non-updated hotel room with limited equipment, of which only 1 elypticle and 2 treadmills that worked, and 1 TV with no remote control. In our room, the "game controller" was attached to the television, but the games did not work. In addition, when you buy a phone card, they don't tell you they charge a $1 for every call you make long distance, along with the ALREADY PAID phone card..surprise..here's a bill! Hotel lobby bar was only open til 11pm every night. The Harbour View restuarant was "under construction", but we found out it was closed for a long time, even though they still advertise it as one of the ammenities. Stay anywhere else but here. About us: we never complain about places we stay at, but this place really diserves it. It's terrible.

Bahamas great - hotel not so good!
We just got back from a week's stay at the Paradise Island Harbour Resort. While we got a good deal on the trip as I booked it back in November, the hotel was less than desirable. The hotel is extremely old and hasn't been renovated in decades. It is in terrible shape. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the internet or in travel brochures all those pictures are at least 30 years old. The ones of the pool are taken from probably the 12th floor so anything looks good from that far away. Some of the hotel staff was friendly but there was LOT that weren't. The food was ok not awful which made it at least tolerable. The electrical on the hotel is in such bad need of repair that they are being forced to close in a few weeks by the government and very sadly one of the workers at the hotel was trying to fix an electrical problem and was electrocuted while we were there and had to be flown to a Miami hospital. The next day my electricity in my bathroom wasn't working but the rest of the room had electricity. Wasn't a very comforting feeling. We had a great time in the Bahamas - we had never been - and would probably go back but NOT to that hotel!!!!!!! Spend the extra money and go someplace else. I am not sure of the price but we did hear that if you stay at the comfort suites you have all the amenities of the Altanis.

Short walk from hotel
If you stay on Paradise Island take a short walk to the ferry and take the water taxi to Nassau and go shopping and try the Greek restaurant - Athenas I think - right across from Diamond International!

Easy-going vacation
We have a young baby and we couldn't do too many activities around the island, so this worked fine for us. The demographic skewed toward college age, so the pool bar was quite lively. The buffet was enjoyable with friendly staff, but the a la carte restaurant left a lot to be desired. I wish the hotel's beach was larger.

No power
It was terrible. The experience was not that great to start with and then they lost power at 11PM and had to wind up having us move in the middle of the night. Definitely a forgettable vacation.

We enjoyed ourselves!!!
I read plenty of reviews before i went & none of them were good. I took a chance on it tho. I'm so glad I did!! It was great! Of course it wasn't a 5 star resort but it was reasonable for the price. Everything we needed was there. Great food. Plenty of it any time of day. Free drinks. Big pool. Only cons: away from the rest of the resorts. The beach was man made but the actual beach wad about a 10 min walk. Wifi only available in lobby for a cost.

Paradise Island Harbour Resort
It's one of the cheaper places to stay on the island, but pay a little extra and go somewhere good! The food wasn't great, and you have to swim in a harbour. Also, the rooms have a musty smell. If you can help it, DON'T go during Spring Break!!!
