Melia was a pretty good experience

What a difference a few days makes. This hotel was under heavy construction during my stay here. Two days before I left they took down a lot of the temporary construction walls and the drab uninspired kind of super inconvenient setup became a completely modern amazing hotel. The location is perfect, the staff was nice. Food was so/so but the drinks were strong and everybody enjoyed the place. Their bartenders are SLOOOOOW but besides that, the experience was pretty solid.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

Most of the divers I met were staying at this hotel. StuartCove picks up directly from the hotel which was fantastic. The shark dive is highly recommended.

20th Anniversary trip

The hotel staff was very nice. We liked the location because it was away from the downtown/Atlantis area. About a half mile from the hotel there is a Subway, Burger King, Deli, etc. We had a couples massage at the spa, very average. The hotel was going through some renovations, it would be interesting to see how it turns out.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The deli just a half mile from the hotel (by the Burger King) made some of the best sandwiches we have ever had. Highly recommend taking the walk!

$50.00 Breakfasts

Nice Hotel, staff nice. When they are done with all the remolding they will be a good hotel. But you had better plan on having 50.00 dollar buffets. Dinner buffet will be more than that. And Lunch is a 14.00 dollar hot dog. Price are outrageous for that hotel.

Good for the money

Overall a great trip, location was awesome, not too crowded like paradise island. Plenty of room to do whatever you want on the beach. Staff was very friendly except we had one incident in the restaurant. Only downside is the construction. I would go again but it would have to be all inclusive because things are very expensive

Great spur of the moment getaway!

I was pleasantly pleased with the hotel. I had read mixed reviews and was not sure. The hotel is currently experiencing renovations, but for the money, it is an outstanding property with great ocean views and lots of beach to walk. I would have liked to see more dining choices. There were some minor details that needed to be attended to in the rooms. The room inspections need to be a tad more closely done, not just the towels, sheets and floors, but also checking the paint knocked of the walls by luggage and caulking around tubs. Housekeeping was very good in my room. I would like to return and stay in one of your suites. Thank you Melia for a great vacation!

Melia - Bahamas

The stay was nice. It's an older hotel, so don't expect anything grand. They are renovating, so I'm sure in the next 12 month it will look better. The lobby area is nice, but rooms, specially restrooms need updating. Not too many places to eat close to hotel. Overall, it was decent...nothing to write home and tell mama about! LOL

Head to Fish Fry for local cuisine...wasn't impressed by the Conch...they call it "fish", but it's more like an over-sized snail...very chewy!!! Never eating that again.

Beautiful Location

The Melia in Nassau, Bahamas is very pretty. The staff couldn't have been nicer. I paid for "The Level" room, which promised in the booking verbage, to include bathrobes for us. The desk clerk said that we would not be getting robes. That actually was the only reason I reserved the upgraded "Level" room, so I was very dissapointed by that. I had also upgraded to include breakfast each day. I was told that it would not be included. I showed the clerk my Itinerary copy, which did include the breakfasts, and she made a copy of it. As I said earlier, the people could not have been nicer, perhaps there was a breakdown in communication with the computer systems. The hotel is going through renovations, so when we were in our room during the day, there were very loud construction noises from right beneath our room.
