Tropical luxury resort a short walk from Eagle Beach
This spot has been recently taken over by the Tropicana (the casino is coming soon), and offers loads of amenities within walking distance of Eagle Beach. Kids will love the wild water slide, while adults seeking tranquility can find it in the more atmospheric pool across the property, with a waterfall and Jacuzzi tub. USPTR- and USRSA-certified tennis professionals are on hand to help with that swing, and should one be interested in a few extra calories, a Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins shop is on-site at the Tropicana Aruba Resort & Casino.
Highlights
  • Three pools, a water slide and a waterfall
  • Tennis pros on-site
  • De Palm Tours office on-site
  • Guest rooms at the Tropicana Aruba Resort & Casino come with Jacuzzi tubs
  • Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins stands on-site
Rooms
Each of the 362 sun-drenched suites at the Tropicana Aruba Resort & Casino come equipped with a Jacuzzi tub, kitchenette, separate living room and a private balcony or patio. Rooms also have two television sets, each with an expanded cable lineup. The adults-only deluxe rooms have an extra-large wraparound balcony and come furnished with a love seat, wing chair and two-chair dining set for in-room entertaining.
Recreation
Two pools are on the Tropicana Aruba Resort & Casino property -- one with a wild water slide and smaller kiddy pool, another with a tranquil, burbling waterfall and Jacuzzi tub. Tennis is a house favorite, and USPTR- and USRSA-certified tennis professionals are on hand, ready to lead seminars or arrange play (equipment rental is available). Five jogging or walking trails are tucked away on lush spots across the grounds -- keep an eye out for friendly iguanas. A new fitness center has treadmills, elliptical, upright and recumbent bikes, and a three-arm workout station. A day spa offers relaxing treatments. A representative from De Palm Tours is in the lobby and can help plan island excursions from luxury shopping to SNUBA to rugged Jeep tours.

Wonderful value

In order to extend my vacation after my time share week, I stay at the Tropicana for 2 days. I have been doing that for the past 4 years. It is a little dated and does not offer much in the way of amenities, BUT for the price, cleanliness, and wonderful beach next door, you cannot get a better deal. The units are large, and the kitchen has a great inventory of items with a full refrigerator and large sink. This last visit was good, but the sister resort next door seems to have some animosity against the Tropicana- issues with beach chairs, the necessity of wearing ugly wristbands to tell us apart, etc... It has me a little leary about coming back again. I have always been a great voice for the Tropicana. It is not the place for your "dream vacation", but if you have a tight budget or just need an extra couple of days somewhere else, this is it!

We had amazing snorkeling on "Da Palm" island. However, best free snorkeling is near Aruba lighthouse.

Average place for above average price

The staff was very nice and very attentive. The price was too high for the location and quality of the room. It was very ordinary and just adequate. Would have been happier if the rate was about 35 to 40% less. One needs a car if staying there..it's out of the way.

Very Pleased with Tropicana

Suites were larger than other pricier resorts I've stayed at in Aruba. Overall I was very pleased with accommodations, services, and staff. TV's were small & outdated which is not a big deal since I didn't go there to watch TV. Dresser drawers had a musty odor. I could live with these things because I loved everything else about the resort. Would definitely stay here again. Please update Photos of this resort on travel site webpage, they are horribly outdated.

Overall the hotel was ok. Clean but has not been taken care of in some time. Bathroom needs to be redone mirrors are pealing and looks cheap with soap despensers glued to the walls.

Good

Actually, Tropicana Resort is not a Hotel. It is a flat. The room is clean, but lack to change the furniture because they are very old. The location is very nice, because it´s very close from both main places in Aruba.

First-timer in Aruba

My one-night stay was OK. Although the room reqiuires an update I found it to be comfortable and conveniently located with easy access to the beach, downtown and high rise area. I would stay here again. Hopefully, the casino will be open by then.
