Lots of upgrades at this recently renovated Palm Beach gem
This Westin Aruba Resort, on 7.5 acres of white sands in Palm Beach, encased by lush gardens and swaying palm trees, recently had a $22 million renovation. Guestrooms and suites have been upgraded with new furnishings and amenities including 32-inch flat screen TVs, marble baths, custom bath products and pillow-topped beds. The resort is home to a 12,000 square-foot Casablanca Casino, which received 200 new state-of-the-art slot machines. The 8,500 square-foot pool received new teak furniture. For breakfast, check out the new Bon Bini Cafe.
Highlights
  • Multi-million-dollar renovation site-wide
  • Kids Club for ages 4-12
  • Seven restaurants and lounges on-site
  • The 2,500 square-foot Intermezzo Spa offers a comprehensive menu of spa services
  • Wi-Fi throughout resort
Rooms
Marble baths, pillow-topped mattresses, stocked mini-bars and fully loaded entertainment centers have been upgraded recently as part of the $22 million resort-wide renovation at the Westin Aruba Resort. Modern wood furniture and sleek flat screen TVs are in all rooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows are extra-stunning when paired with pool or ocean views.
Dining
Guests can enjoy breakfast or a light lunch poolside at the Terrace.  At Azul, chefs prepare intricate four-course dinners that are meant to be shared with a loved one on the beach during sunset. Try and resist doing an impression of Bogart while at Rick's Café, which is outfitted with comfortable teak and rattan armchairs.
Recreation
A Kids Club offers scheduled activities, and the Little Chef program allows kids ages 6 and up to prepare a meal (with expert supervision) for their happy parents. The Westin Aruba Resort fitness center provides ample opportunities to elevate one's heart rate – as do the azure ocean views one sees while snorkeling or fishing. Pro guides will lead trips to do either. Feel the wind while sailing, or experience another kind of thrill at the casino, which recently got new slot machines.

Location good

Location is fine but everything is overpriced! Rooms need upgrade. Staff was pleasant. However, I've traveled in the subcontinent a bunch and those hotels just put this one to shame. Not really worth the value/cost in my opinion.

Great vacation...

Nice beach...blue/green water...great for night swimming...very calm. Great service with towels and beach chairs...straw cabanas were adorable. When sunbathing you do have occasional gust of winds that can sting...however the winds are great for parasailing!

Beautiful Beach Resort

This is my first vacation when at my return I was well rested. I intentionally did not go for the night life but I know that is was there if I wanted to participate. The beaches are serene and look like a photo straight out of a postcard. I travel for pleasure as often as I get a chance and am tempted to do as much as I can while visiting but Aruba proved to be a place where one could enjoy the beaches or poolside and not be disturbed.

Upholding Westin Reputation

I've stayed at the Westin numerous times within the United States and have always enjoyed the accommodations. The Aruba Westin was comparable and lived up to my expectations with only a couple defecits. One situation was a hotel employee who despite being told by others repeatedly that I had been first in line, ignored me and helped 4 others very courteously before rudely addressing me. That was shocking considering how pleasant my experience with all Westin employees was up to that point, both in Aruba and the United States. Aside from that, the stay at the Westin in Aruba was fantastic.

Great Getaway

Negatives: - Hotel not aesthetically pleasing to look at from the front of the hotel. - Italian restaurant was a big disappointment (very expensive and awful Italian food). - Spa staff absolutely not qualified. I have massages and facials once a month at various spas. I ordered a deep tissue massage and the women did not know what she was doing. It was like a child karate-chopping your back and just rubbing your skin. This is the first time my face completely broke out from a facial. I had to see a dermatologist to repair my face when I got home. - Staff not respectful of people travelling alone and would emphasise (loudly) that you were alone in public (especially at the restaurants). This is disrespectful and unsafe for female travellers. Positives: - The Westin Aruba was as expected - dependable. - The beach area is nice and clean. - The hotel and my room was very clean. - The shops and restaurants provided a good variety to choose from. - I recommend the Asian restaurant, the breakfast cafe, and the bistro at the beach. Also, 2 for 1 cocktails at the pool bar every day. - Location is a 15 minute walk to a pretty shopping plaza with better and cheaper restaurants along the way to choose from.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

The most amazing scuba diving I've taken so far (most colourful and abundant fish)! Mr. Jazz at the plaza nearby has excellent steaks and wines at the bar. The bartenders are the most professional, mature, and friendliest I have ever met. The Island tour is worth taking to get some history and views-avoid the obnoxious jeep-driven tours.

Very Comfortable

I really enjoyed my stay at the Westin Aruba. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. My room had a magnificent view of the ocean. Inside the hotel there were lots of things to do,ie..go shopping, to the spa, or go eat. The breakfast buffet at the Bon Bini Cafe was exquisite. I really looked forward to eating there each morning. Also in walking distance was a multitude of other restaurants, so the hotel was in a great location. i really enjoyed my stay and will return soon!!

My review of The Westin Aruba Resort

This is a good hotel for the person traveling alone. With several restaurants, a fitness room, entertainment, and a general store, you can stay a week and never leave the property. On the other hand, it is located near other hotels and restaurants within walking distance, so you have many dining options. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and tastefully decorated. You can rent a beach hut for a day. The cost is $34.00 per day, but it was well worth it.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Westin has no restaurants that serves light fare. However, you can find sandwiches and burgers at the Radisson which is less than a five-minute walk. Directly across from the Radisson is Gianni's which serves excellent veal.
