Lots of upgrades at this recently renovated Palm Beach gem
This Westin Aruba Resort, on 7.5 acres of white sands in Palm Beach, encased by lush gardens and swaying palm trees, recently had a $22 million renovation. Guestrooms and suites have been upgraded with new furnishings and amenities including 32-inch flat screen TVs, marble baths, custom bath products and pillow-topped beds. The resort is home to a 12,000 square-foot Casablanca Casino, which received 200 new state-of-the-art slot machines. The 8,500 square-foot pool received new teak furniture. A GOOD TIME
THE ROOM AND AMENITIES WERE OKAY....HOWEVER,,,THE SHOWER LEAKED CONSTANTLY AND THE STOPPER IN THE TUB WOULD NOT THE WATER SO IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE A BATH. OTHER THAN THAT, THE LOCATION WAS GREAT, THE RESTAURANT WERE GOOD AND THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY.

It was GREAT!
The staff was happy to have us there. The hotel was wonderful and the rooms were a dream. Our view to the beach and pool was very nice. I have not been so impressed with a hotel in a while. The only thing to remember: the hotel food was good but very pricey. We found alternative places to eat, all a 5 minute taxi ride away. Already making plans to go there again.

Great Rooms!
Thought the hotel was great. Great food, atmosphere, staff. The room was gorgeous and the shower and bed were amazing. Would absolutely reccomend.

Very nice experience!
I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Rooms were very clean and service was very good. Restaurants were within walking distance. Although I was hoping for a full oceanview in my Oceanview room, I have no complaints and would recommend this hotel to others.

Plan to bring some money for dining as it can become expensive, however if on a budget, there is a McDonalds and Wendy's within walking distance. If you walk around you can find restaurants with good deals on meals and buffets.

Great for vacation
Every thing was perfect except the food, too expensive and stinks. also the night life is dead. no entertainment in the night, basically you coming for the beach to relax that?s about it, more than 4 days is boring. also shopping is so expensive double the prices in USA.

Awesome staff
The staff at this hotel has always been great to us. This was our fourth stay at the Westin in Aruba. My husband became ill and the staff was incredibly helpful in getting us what we needed and in directing us to the right places on the island. The facilities area always great here!

Good but could be better
The hotel was very nice but the pool needs to be upgraded which they say will happen in September - October 2008. There is a lack of umbrellas aorund the pool and on the beach and you have to wake up very early to get an umbrella. They also charge for internet access in your room.

Great Getaway
Negatives: - Hotel not aesthetically pleasing to look at from the front of the hotel. - Italian restaurant was a big disappointment (very expensive and awful Italian food). - Spa staff absolutely not qualified. I have massages and facials once a month at various spas. I ordered a deep tissue massage and the women did not know what she was doing. It was like a child karate-chopping your back and just rubbing your skin. This is the first time my face completely broke out from a facial. I had to see a dermatologist to repair my face when I got home. - Staff not respectful of people travelling alone and would emphasise (loudly) that you were alone in public (especially at the restaurants). This is disrespectful and unsafe for female travellers. Positives: - The Westin Aruba was as expected - dependable. - The beach area is nice and clean. - The hotel and my room was very clean. - The shops and restaurants provided a good variety to choose from. - I recommend the Asian restaurant, the breakfast cafe, and the bistro at the beach. Also, 2 for 1 cocktails at the pool bar every day. - Location is a 15 minute walk to a pretty shopping plaza with better and cheaper restaurants along the way to choose from.

The most amazing scuba diving I've taken so far (most colourful and abundant fish)! Mr. Jazz at the plaza nearby has excellent steaks and wines at the bar. The bartenders are the most professional, mature, and friendliest I have ever met. The Island tour is worth taking to get some history and views-avoid the obnoxious jeep-driven tours.

a great getaway
The Westin Aruba is situated on the quiet side of the high rise hotels. Our room overlooked the bird sanctuary, the RIU palace and the Palm Beach coastline. We requested a small refrigerator for the room, well worth the $5 a day charge. Every thing appeared to be well maintained. The grounds were in great shape with lots of friendly staff.

About 3 miles from the hotel is the California Lighthouse. It is a great viewpoint for sunsets along with a great Italian Restaurant. We prepaid for our dinner using the AGA dine around program available through ARUBA. This dinner exceeded our expectations.
