Lots of upgrades at this recently renovated Palm Beach gem
This Westin Aruba Resort, on 7.5 acres of white sands in Palm Beach, encased by lush gardens and swaying palm trees, recently had a $22 million renovation. Guestrooms and suites have been upgraded with new furnishings and amenities including 32-inch flat screen TVs, marble baths, custom bath products and pillow-topped beds. The resort is home to a 12,000 square-foot Casablanca Casino, which received 200 new state-of-the-art slot machines. The 8,500 square-foot pool received new teak furniture. For breakfast, check out the new Bon Bini Cafe.
Highlights
  • Multi-million-dollar renovation site-wide
  • Kids Club for ages 4-12
  • Seven restaurants and lounges on-site
  • The 2,500 square-foot Intermezzo Spa offers a comprehensive menu of spa services
  • Wi-Fi throughout resort
Rooms
Marble baths, pillow-topped mattresses, stocked mini-bars and fully loaded entertainment centers have been upgraded recently as part of the $22 million resort-wide renovation at the Westin Aruba Resort. Modern wood furniture and sleek flat screen TVs are in all rooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows are extra-stunning when paired with pool or ocean views.
Dining
Guests can enjoy breakfast or a light lunch poolside at the Terrace.  At Azul, chefs prepare intricate four-course dinners that are meant to be shared with a loved one on the beach during sunset. Try and resist doing an impression of Bogart while at Rick's Café, which is outfitted with comfortable teak and rattan armchairs.
Recreation
A Kids Club offers scheduled activities, and the Little Chef program allows kids ages 6 and up to prepare a meal (with expert supervision) for their happy parents. The Westin Aruba Resort fitness center provides ample opportunities to elevate one's heart rate – as do the azure ocean views one sees while snorkeling or fishing. Pro guides will lead trips to do either. Feel the wind while sailing, or experience another kind of thrill at the casino, which recently got new slot machines.

Westin All Inclusive

The location, beach and food and service were great. The all inclusive plan had some restrictions about 2 pages of them they gave us when we checked in. The room was dissappointing for a Westin hotel, it was small and the bathroom left a lot to be deired.

Aruba Westin Stay

Overall, we had a good stay at the Westin. We were able to upgrade our room to a Westin Workout Room at check in. The bell staff was friendly and helpful. There were a few problems though. There was a power outage on the island during our stay and there was no communication from the hotel regarding when power would be restored. A simple sign placed in the lobby with an estimated time of power restoration would have been helpful. Once power was restored, we were without television service for an additional day. I requested that the hotel provide us with a dvd to watch in lieu of cable service. They replied that they had no dvd players on the premises. I informed the hotel staff that we did, in fact, have a dvd player in our room and they were very surprised and stated that they had no knowledge of any hotel rooms equipped with dvd players, nor did they have any dvd's on site. We also experienced rude service from the waiters in Baci restaurant on the hotel premises. The first night we had dinner at Baci, the waiter was very annoyed that we chose to be seated in the lobby area, rather than inside of the restaurant. On the second night, we requested to order from both the adult and child's menu, because we preferred to order hamburgers which were not available on the adult menu. The waiter refused our order, stating that if he allowed us to have burgers, all of the other patrons would also want to order burgers. He insisted that the only way we could have the hamburgers was to order them to go. We agreed to this concession and ordered salads to have on the premises and the burgers as a take out order. The waiter, however, prepared all of our food to go and escorted us from the restaurant.

Great 1st visit to Aruba

We originally went to Aruba for a wedding at the Westin. The wedding was fabulous and we had a lot of fun! The staff at the Westin was very friendly. The only complaint I had was there was no TV in our room for almost 2 days. When I complained to the front desk about it, we were comped a free breakfast for 2 at their buffet. The hotel is located within walking distance of many other hotels, restaurants, shopping and casinos. We booked an excursion (NOT De Palm tours) through ABC tours. They picked us up at the hotel and even let some friends join our excursion at the last minute. If you plan on doing any excursions around the island, I would book with anyone other than De Palm. De Palm's staff at the Westin's concierge was VERY RUDE!!! Overall, we had a fantastic vacation and plan on returning to the island in the future.

Don't book through De Palm tours! ABC tours has a wonderful jeep tour where you can explore half of the island. It was worth every penny and then some!

Very nice

The hotel isn't much to look at from the outside, but inside it was very modern and nice. The staff was very helpful from the early check-in and some troubles we had getting around the island. We got a $75 resort credit at check-in which no one really explained to us, so we ended up going the entire trip without spending it until the day we left. It would've been nice for more of a description of the credit when they gave it to us, but it turned out alright in the end. We ended up with a room by the elevator, which should be avoided if possible. There was a constant noise coming from the elevators.

"Fabulous vacation spot"

The beach front is beautiful and easily accessible. The size of the pool was very accommodating to all guests. People were very helpful organizing tours and making restaurant reservations. We ate at Bacci...great service and delicious food. Absolutely no complaints!!!!!! Room size was excellent for three travelers.

Enjoyed Our Visit....Aruba is Great!

Relaxed on beach, ate out at many different restaurants both within walking distance and by bus/taxi in to Oranjestad. To mention a few great ones: Amazonia (awesome but pricey!) Aqua Grill, Le Petite Cafe (dinner) Smokey Joe's and El Gaucho's which was worth finding and getting to by Bus/ walking...then a taxi back after the meal. Most Memorable moments were the beach/swimming, meeting new people, the nightly dining and every morning greeting the cockatoos and parrots as well as a Toucan! They are cared for well and are very entertaining!

Great hotel for the price

The hotel and the location are great in almost every aspect. The tooms could use dehumidifiers, the beach is smaller than some of the surrounding hotels and the elevators can be slow at times, but the amenities are outstanding and the prices are generally pretty good
