Lots of upgrades at this recently renovated Palm Beach gem
This Westin Aruba Resort, on 7.5 acres of white sands in Palm Beach, encased by lush gardens and swaying palm trees, recently had a $22 million renovation. Guestrooms and suites have been upgraded with new furnishings and amenities including 32-inch flat screen TVs, marble baths, custom bath products and pillow-topped beds. The resort is home to a 12,000 square-foot Casablanca Casino, which received 200 new state-of-the-art slot machines. The 8,500 square-foot pool received new teak furniture. For breakfast, check out the new Bon Bini Cafe.
Highlights
  • Multi-million-dollar renovation site-wide
  • Kids Club for ages 4-12
  • Seven restaurants and lounges on-site
  • The 2,500 square-foot Intermezzo Spa offers a comprehensive menu of spa services
  • Wi-Fi throughout resort
Rooms
Marble baths, pillow-topped mattresses, stocked mini-bars and fully loaded entertainment centers have been upgraded recently as part of the $22 million resort-wide renovation at the Westin Aruba Resort. Modern wood furniture and sleek flat screen TVs are in all rooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows are extra-stunning when paired with pool or ocean views.
Dining
Guests can enjoy breakfast or a light lunch poolside at the Terrace.  At Azul, chefs prepare intricate four-course dinners that are meant to be shared with a loved one on the beach during sunset. Try and resist doing an impression of Bogart while at Rick's Café, which is outfitted with comfortable teak and rattan armchairs.
Recreation
A Kids Club offers scheduled activities, and the Little Chef program allows kids ages 6 and up to prepare a meal (with expert supervision) for their happy parents. The Westin Aruba Resort fitness center provides ample opportunities to elevate one's heart rate – as do the azure ocean views one sees while snorkeling or fishing. Pro guides will lead trips to do either. Feel the wind while sailing, or experience another kind of thrill at the casino, which recently got new slot machines.

great trip!

just got back from our trip. loved the westin! the people who work there are so nice, everyone was helpful and pleasant. great location, near the cute shopping strip, close to restaurants and right on the beach. the only complaint is that the beach is a little small and crowded, but most of the beaches on the high rise strip are. it was a minor issue, the beach is so beautiful, you can walk over a little and have the whole beach to yourself. last time i stayed at the marriot which was much more crowded and full of kids. the rooms were clean and comfortable, and as soon as you call and ask for something they send it right over. would stay at the westin again.

Ok place

My husband & I stayed at the Westin for our 30th anniversary. Room was not a prem ocean view as booked. More like a ocean, parking lot, construction site view. Room was clean & comfortable. Front desk staff not friendly, maid service & bell men wonderful, restaurants ok but better food can be found at better price. Phone was broke in room whole time, I complained twice, was ignored..no biggie. Loved the location, loved Aruba. We were just not wowed by the Westin..I wanted to be..really I did; it just didn't happen. We will return to Aruba (loved it, loved people) but will try a different hotel next time. When I pay the resort price I expect to be treated a little better..we weren't not even on our anniversary

Somewhat tierd property

A good three star but just not up to Westin standards - no one thing can be faulted completely. Unfortunate location/ building design that funnels wind to hurricane velocity. Beach becomes a sandblast. Wifi was poor throughout hotel. Ok if dicounted as it should be which is true of Aruba in general.

For the price I would recommend staying at the Radisson or Marriott. The Westin was just average, nothing special .

Best beach area of the Aruba resorts

I loved the Westin. I feel like the Westin had the best beach area (cabanas, lay out chairs, etc.). I think that the Marriot had the best resort, but I think the Westin is the best place to stay for the money and beach area.

Fabulous vacation

The hotel was in a great location - right on the beach. We went snorkeling in the ocean in front of the hotel and saw hundreds of tropical fish. It is close to restaurants, shopping and bus stops. There was always papalas available on the beach and the staff was very friendly.

great place to stay

We loved this place,as it was our first time in Aruba. I would recommend it to anyone. The only thing that we do not like is charging money for a shelter on the beach or the pool. People reserve them for the day and they stay empty most of the time. We had the opportunity to walk through the other resorts and it was a first come first served basis. People pay enough to stay here something should be done about that. Also charging for internet service, are you in the dark ages.

Expected average, got average, still was happy

As many reviews have already mentioned, the Westin is due for some renovations. Hallway carpet, door paint, and all lounge furniture inside and out, still need to be replaced. We stayed in room 728 on the sunset/ocean side of the tower. Beautiful views. Room was very clean, cool, dry, no smells, everything we expected. Bed was very hard though; we both awoke with back aches every day. Housekeeping was very good. No hotel next to Westin to the south so it is very very windy at the pool area and sand blew hard and often on the beach. We used the pool at the Radisson one day just to get away from the wind. Beautiful beach area though. We got a non-reserved palapa on the beach 4 out of 5 days that we tried. Much less wind further up at any other hotel. Overall, good hotel but not that great. You get what you pay for. No complaints really, but more expensive properties we have stayed at in Aruba were obviously much nicer (Radisson especially). Very good hotel for first timers or ones on a budget.
