Modern wood furniture and sleek flat screen TVs are in all rooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows are extra-stunning when paired with pool or ocean views.Dining

Great Vacay
My husband and I traveled to Aruba in early March 2010 just to get away for a bit. We stayed at the Westin under their All-Inclusive package (taxes and service fees are NOT included - it cost us an extra $200 for 4 days). We got to try all the restaurants within the hotel. We weren't sure what to expect, but received great service and food at all. We enjoyed the services and activities provided (dinner on the beach, bingo, etc.). Everyone was very friendly. The pool size was not small, but they need to provide more chairs around the pool - the area filled up quickly so it was hard to find a spot at 10am. Would definitely recommend the Westin Aruba for a great vacation destination.

Double check your dinner reservations! Sometimes the concierge desk gets overwhelmed and can put you down for a different day or time. That happened to our Azull reservations, but the host/servers were nice enough to set-up an extra table for us!

The Westin Aruba Resort Easter?
Four elevators to 16 floors. All the elevators were programmed to stop at every floor to accomodate Passover guests. We were on the 15th floor and were subjected to this for two days! there were times when we were the only one on the elevator and it stopped on all floors. Other than that the hotel is spotless! Very nice staff and all the rooms have a great view of the ocean.

Recently renovated, and it shows.
I only stayed for one night, so my experience was limited. The staff were considerate and helpful, although it kinda shows that Westin took over an old hotel and renovated it. The rooms are your typical 3 star hotel, on demand movies were not working but I appreciated the free internet connection (limited speed), given the fact that they will charge you for almost everything else. The hotel has a dated feel, especially the outdoor areas, such as the pool and the lower lobby where the shops and a couple of restaurants are. It's well located, on the main commercial and tourism strip.

what an awesome experience!!!!!!!!!
we had a great first night.great dinner on property then had fun winning in the casino :)then our 2nd day started really crazy .my husbands back siezed to the point that we could not move him and i was very scared so after a few minutes of not being able to get him up i called down for help and they came right away with many men including [...] the head of security for the Westin .they called an ambulance to come transport my husband to the local hospital .[...] gave me his cell# and every other #he had to reach him and offered to bring me lunch to the hospital and come up there to speed things along if we needed it.this whole experience lasted from 7AM until 3PM ( i did call for the food and they were so gracious when they brought it) when they sent a luxury suv to take us to the pharmacy and then back to the Westin .they helped me get him out of the car and back up to the room where he rested .then throughout the rest of the stay they called everyday to check on him. :::I do also want to point out that we had the VERY BEST all inclusive food we have ever had in the carribean.I will be booking my next vacation to this Westin ASAP:)

Westin in February
good location- tons of places to walk to including restaurants and activities. Very safe area. The hotel was nice, but crowded and 2/4 elevators were broken. I was a little disappointed that they said they just renovated and the rooms were- "ok". It is expensive to eat, definately recommend walking to restaurants outside hotels. Tons of fun acitvities to do along the beach. Weather is wonderful- a little windy at times, but that keeps it cooler. Staff was friendly for the most part. Do not pay to rent huts on beach- wait until that morning and get them on first come first serve basis!

Good choice
For the first-time traveler to Aruba, the Westin is a great choice. It is in a great location --- any kind of food (nice restaurants to fast foods) are within reasonable walking distance. There were two problems with the Westin: 1) Not enough elevators to service all the people, causing long waits, crowded conditions, and tempers; 2) A few of the staff members were not helpful. But, again, overall we loved it.

3 star at best
The check in was slow only 2 persons at busy time with log lines..Elevator has been broken for months (only 4) other 3 broke intermittantly during stay..Needs update overall..Carpet in common areas dirty..Maid service as late as 6pm.. Staff very friendly, food was good but on the meal plan limited order allowed eg. either salad or soup or appetizer (Not a combination of two) and an entree.. Stay at the Hyatt it was updated more convienient location and more interesting grounds

Nice hotel, but not a "beachy" layout
The hotel itself is beautiful - the rooms are clean, comfortable, and in good condition. The location of the hotel is great - only 15-20 min from the airport, and within easy walking distance of many shops and restaurants. But, it felt like a "city" hotel that was dropped on a beach. It lacked the open layout of some of the other resorts in the area, and the only place to eat outdoors was so windy it wasn't pleasant to eat there. The other restaurants in the hotel had just a partial view of the beach, if at all. The "oceanfront" hotel room we paid for had only a partial view of the ocean - 80% of the view was of the rooftop of the casino below. I'm not sure if it was just the week we went (President's Day week), but both the pool and the beach were incredibly crowded, and it was impossible to find a chair by the pool after 8:30am. In order to get any kind of shade, you had to pay to reserve a "cabana" on the beach or at the pool. Otherwise, a hotel assistant just dragged chairs to any small open spot of beach available at the moment. Some of the hotel staff were wonderful - the GM, the concierge, and the medical staff. But some of the restaurant wait staff were overly harried. Overall, we had a nice time, but I would choose to stay somewhere else next time (the Radisson looked nice, as did the Hyatt).
