25th honeymoon
we were to stay at the divi all inclusive with a garden room but they did not have our reservations. The reservations were made at the resort across the street the divi village. In the future you should not list the divi all inclusive if it is full and confirm reservations at the divi all inclusive with a room at the divi village these are two different resorts and for that we were disappointed.

great location, resort not overwhelming
Stayed at Divi, first time. Room ready, spacious, in need of updating. Common areas very clean, well kept. Beach is beautiful, easily accessible to rooms. Felt safe, walking distance to sister facility, casino. Had problems with plumbing in bathroom. Following multiple visits to front desk, finally moved us to alternate room next day. Not handled in timely fashion !! Waitstaff was great, entertainment mediocre, bartenders fabulous. Meals were somewhat repetitious, but tasty in comparison to other island trip resorts we stayed in. We enjoyed the beach, the ability to move about the resort without feeling overwhelmed. Had a very nice time, would return at later date.

Short walk from hotel
Book early for restaurants, as they fill fast. Concierge and reception desk not always "eager" to give the extra "effort" leaving you with unclear information.

A wonderful trip for 3 teachers
It was so nice to step off of our bus and be greeted by the smiling faces of the staff. They were super helpful through out the whole vacation. They even had daily activities for adults. My friend and I took advantage of their free morning bike ride and snorkel trip which was super fun. The food was okay and the drinks weren't very strong but we expected that from an all-inclusive. The best two restaurants to eat at were the Red Parrot and the Palm Grill. The only negative was that we were the only girls trip there. It was mostly made up of families and couples. But getting to town at night after our free meal was very easy and very safe. It would be a great place to stay with a big group of friends.

not bad overall
would really recommend it for a couple's stay for quiet and scenic getaway. the beach is really spread out so there is no crowding ever! food is good, staff are all friendly. the rooms do need an update though, and be sure to go downtown and to the high rise for other activities.

Friends vacation
The Divi is located right on Druif Beach, which is beautiful, but since it faces south and the wind is from the east, you can get sandblasted if the wind is strong, like we did the first day. The surf is also brisker; if you go around the corner to Manchebo or Eagle, the water and wind are somewhat calmer. We stayed in a room in the Vista buildings on the West end of property; the comments about the construction view are true but it didn't bother us that much; that's not what we're there for. At check-in: wanted 2 double beds; got one king bed; claimed no other room was available; they brought in a roll-away and I guess they did all they could but I encourage you to contact the hotel before you arrive to make sure you get what you want. I agree that some of the staff is somewhat "cool" in attitude. The bartenders were great and the concierge staff was also very nice but overall not the warmth and friendliness I've seen at other low-rise resorts. Room very clean, basic, and comfortable; no bugs and no problems with A/C or hot water; if you want stellar features go to the Hyatt. The grounds, pool, and beach are beautiful. Free floats and towels. Plenty of bars. I thought the drinks were OK but my friend felt they were watered down. I feel the main downside was the food. The breakfast buffet is good, lots of hot food choices. For lunch we did pizza or sandwiches which are also good and you can get them until 1 am; good for late nite-munchies after drinking! Dinner was not my favorite. I would describe the buffet as average in quality; we're steak and potatoes or pasta kind of folks and just didn't care for the choices. The best restaurant for us would have been Paparazzi but couldn't get reservations and the choices at the others just didn't appeal to us. You have to make reservations early; it's true about being stuck at 530 or 9 pm. Ate at the French Steakhouse one nite (GREAT). In addition, this hotel is more crowded than the other low-rises but we actually enjoyed meeting and talking with lots of people. I agree it's harder to get a hut on the beach than at Manchebo or Bucuti. Bottom line: greeat beach and good room and a good value if you are a "eat-to-live" type of person and don't care about eating around; but if you are a "live-to-eat" person that really values a great meal you might be happier elsewhere. Last thing: at checkout, they want you out by Noon; requested to vacate at 1 but they wanted us to vacate the room and then use another room to shower before going to the airport(?) Overall, We were satisfied but it is not my favorite.

Dining tip:
In Hotel
Make dinner reservations early if you want to to eat anything other than the buffet or pizza and sandwiches at the bar. Don't be cheap and tip the bartenders some; it will really go a long way. There are a large number of folks that come every year and they are really catered to and enjoy the service.

The right choice!
We had a really wonderful trip. The Divi All Inclusive was recommended by relatives and did not disappoint. It has what we think is the best stretch of beach, with white powdery sand. It is not crowded. The accommodations were very nice. It's not as ritzy as the highrises but we didn't want ritzy for our beach vacation. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food was very good (all except the Papparazzi...we didn't like that one). The Windows on Aruba restaurant (at the Divi Golf) is excuisite and I highly recommend it. It's not part of the all inclusive but you can eat there at a discount. It's still expensive but well worth it if you want one especially elegant evening. We toured all the hotels one day and found that we had made the right choice (for us) for hotel selections. This was our first trip to Aruba and we loved it. It's hot but the constant tradewinds make it perfect. And lastly, we didn't realize there would be any waves there and we were pleasantly surprised to find that there were some. It's a winner as far as we're concerned. Just perfect for a week on the beach.

I didn't realize that there is nighly entertainment outdoors each evening. It's just enough to give you that island feel. It's perfect for couples and friends and even appropriate for families.
