NOTICE: The hotel will undergo a three-phase renovation from May 13 and August 10, 2013
- Phase I (May 13 through May 31)
The entire resort will be closed during this three-week period.
- Phase II (June 1 - July 5)
This time period entails the assembly of prefabricated elements of the structure within a fenced enclosure, which will be much less disruptive than phase 1. To minimize any disruption work will take place between 9:30am and 6:00pm. Since our beachfront restaurant will not yet be complete we will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in our Tara Lounge. The renowned Carte Blanche (chef's table concept) restaurant will also be open and accepting dinner reservations five nights a week.
The pool and entire beach area, including new lounge chairs and umbrellas, will be available. The Sand Bar will be open for guests during this time, and the hotel will also have an alternate bar location available in one of the Bungalow Suites. The Bucuti Wing Superior rooms facing south (towards Manchebo Beach Resort - with smoking balconies) and the Bungalow Suites will be closed during this phase, as these rooms would face the traffic for equipment and supplies delivery to the restaurant site. For smoking balconies, the hotel would have the Deluxe Ocean View rooms available. Other room categories will remain available to guests, at a very special rate: a 35% reduction in the net room rate.
- Phase III (July 6 - August 11)
The last phase involves the detail work inside the new restaurant including interior decoration and the renovation of the beachfront restaurant/lounge deck. The restaurant will remain closed, and breakfast lunch and dinner will continue to be served in Tara Lounge. The Superior rooms on the south (Manchebo) side will be available for reservations. All the rooms will be offered at a special rate during these dates, representing a 25% reduction of the net room rate.
This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Sun & Relax
this is an over 18 years old only hotel, so there is a relaxed quite atmosphere. We stayed for our 3rd time in the suites, each with an nobstructed view out over the well spaced new unbrellas and shaise to the ocean. Sunsets can be fab. the bed area seperates from the sitting area by a sliding door. The room is very nice. There is a new gym and a small fantistic but EXPENSIVE resturant. The main resturant will be completed by fall and looks beautifull. the staff is hard working and genuinely friendly Down sides; AC is not very good, the dehumidifer is very loud. the 2 TV's get lousy reception. If your looking for an active vacation don't come here, it's relaxing you'll not want to move. you can walk to a few good resturants. People claimed the chioce beach shaises before 7 am then never showed up till afternoon. There were compliants so I hope that changes. it was very windly which drove us to the pool it's ok, the ocean is better. All in all we love the place & plan to go back again next year or sooner.

Honest detailed review
The Bucuti was a peaceful paradise that we highly recommend. This is a review of the details I would have wanted to read before booking - we would absolutely recommend this resort despite the few areas for improvement included in the review below. --Staff are pleasant and eager to help. Housekeeping was overall sufficient but occasionally we didn't have all of our towels replaced or garbage emptied. Nothing particularly concerning. --We stayed in a regular Bucuti room. Ask for the side facing the Tara suites, not the side facing the parking lot. Room small but well furnished. We thought the sheets were a bit rough but then again we are picky about sheets. We asked them to empty the mini bar and stocked with our own beer from the grocery store. It is a technologically advanced room. There is an air purifier, a dehumidifier, and a fancy digital thermostat that automatically ups the temp if you aren't in the room setting off the motion detector. Beware that the dehumidifier beeps if it fills up (learned that at 4am# so you may want to empty it before you go to bed. All of these fancy devices make some white noise, but the greatest benefit was that this is the only Caribbean room we've stayed in that didn't have a musty smell from the humidity. --There is a palapa with two chairs and a table FOR EVERY ROOM which to us was worth the price of the room alone. I repeat, you will never have to search or wait for a comfortable shady spot to relax. #By comparison, the resort next door makes you sign up for umbrellas and polices them for use...# Chairs have soft cushions and, along with a beach towel, the resort provides a cushion cover made of towel material. Best beach chairs ever. Beach is wide, clean, and pure white sand. I cannot say enough about the beach experience here. --Pool on the small side but deep and never crowded. --It is important to know that there are virtually zero activities at the Bucuti with the exception of a steel drum band at happy hour. No volleyball net, no pool aerobics, nothing. We loved this. It may not be for everyone. It is VERY quiet there. --Regarding food, the included breakfast was pretty good. Nothing very gourmet, but a lot of choices that didn't change much day to day. Made to order eggs and omelettes are the highlight. The coffee was on the weak side. The indoor Tara breakfast spot has an espresso machine that makes better coffee. We ate a big breakfast every day and usually skipped lunch, which saved a lot of money and time. --Drinks and food are expensive at the resort. Even happy hour specials can be $8 for two weak mixed drinks. Buy duty free liquor at the airport and stop by the grocery store #well stocked with beer, wine - particularly good South American wine selection - and mixers#, and you'll save a lot of money. --For a quick dinner on your night of arrival, Pizza Bob's #across from the Bucuti parking lot) was quite good. Again, overall we loved the Bucuti and feel it is the best resort on the island. I add the negatives above because they are things I would want to know and are points which could be improved upon.

Amazing choice for our honeymoon
My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon at the Bucuti in early August of 2012. We had an amazing time. The hotel was everything we expected and more. The room was great, and they even upgraded us once we told them we were on our honeymoon. The staff was unbelievable. Honestly, the customer service was so great. The staff is so nice and respectful, and they seem to love what they do. The hotel was very clean and I really liked that they were environmentally conscious. Also, for honeymooners or anniversary goers, or anyone who wants a relaxed, laid-back, no children experience, Bucuti and Tara Suites is the way to go. There was never a fight for beach chairs like there is in the big commercial resorts. No matter the time of day, you can always find yourself a chair on the beach. The hotel offered a great complimentary breakfast, and had an absolutely phenomenal restaurant, The Pirate's Nest, located on the beach. The restaurant was so good that we ate at it twice. Overall though, the Bucuti and Tara Suites was an absolutely amazing hotel and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone wanting a nice, peaceful, relaxing vacation. We will definitely be returning.

A Great 25th Anniversary
My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a stay in the Tara Beach Suites. We both agreed after seven fantastic days that this was the best vacation since our honeymoon in Hawaii. The concierge was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and booking our excursions around the island. The restaurant service was outstanding, from beach delivery of lunch with cocktails to the romantic private beachside dinner. The room on the third floor had a roomy patio with direct views of the ocean and a private white sand beach. Coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening made the patio a favorite place to enjoy the resort. The suite was comfortable with large flat screnn TVs in the bedroom and living room, and a 9 inch TV built into the bathroom mirror - cool. The entire staff from check-in to check-out made you feel welcome and appreciated, and we will definitely return to Bucuti for another romantic getaway.

Perfection.
Everyone was so friendly and attentative. It was the perfect location for a nice relaxing vacation that was close enough to the hustle and bustle if you want. I couldnt have asked for anything more. The only thing I would complain about is maybe softer sheets. Thats about it. It was literally like having someone wait on you hand and foot.

FANTASTIC
There are very few words to describe how incredible the Bucuti Tara Beach Resort was. The hotel is impeccable and the staff makes the hotel a one of a kind resort. Everyone at the hotel, from check in to check out was phenomenal. I have already booked next years vacation at the Bucuti. The staff goes way beyond to accommodate all guests. Donald, the restaurant mgr. was warm, friendly and a cut above the rest. His great attitude funneled down to everyone on his staff. Angelo on the beach was most accommodating and took meticulous care of the grounds. Best beach in Aruba. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of a large crowded high rise hotel. Loved the BUCUTI !!!!!
