Everyone seeking a gorgeous beach vacation, from families to singles, will appreciate this marvel of Dutch Caribbean architecture, right on Eagle Beach. Laze under the waterfall at the fresh water pool, or splash around at the designated pool for kids. Snorkel equipment is available to better explore Eagle Beach. Happy hours clock in twice daily here, and ask ahead how to plan for the weekly theme nights with live acts.Highlights
- Two pools, a waterfall and a beachfront with excellent snorkeling
- Two restaurants on-site
- Two happy hours every day
- Concierge, activity desk and car rental desk in-house
- Free Wi-Fi throughout hotel
Rooms
Guests at the Amsterdam Manor Beach may forget that they are in Aruba, as the 72 rooms here are elegant and streamlined with efficient Dutch modern design in neutral tones with strong red accents. Choose from a one- or two-bedroom suite, or a studio. Suites come with a spacious living room with a pull-out sofa, fully equipped kitchen and a Jacuzzi with an ocean view. All rooms come with air conditioning, a cable TV, clock radio, iPod docking station, direct dial telephone, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and safety deposit box.
Dining
Two restaurants are on-site at Amsterdam Manor Beach: Mango's, which serves three meals in the open air at the heart of the hotel, and Passions, which serves dinner directly on the white sands of Eagle Beach for an unabashedly romantic atmosphere. On some nights, Mango's serves French and Italian cuisine, and offers a barbecue buffet. Each restaurant has a vast wine list, and Passions boasts a number of specialty cocktails.Recreation
With a stretch of Eagle Beach right in front of Amsterdam Manor Beach hotel and plenty of equipment on hand, guests would be remiss to skip snorkeling. A pool for children lets families play together, and a fresh-water pool has a waterfall to soak underneath. A concierge and activity desk will help plan excursions, and the in-house car rental desk will allow full exploration of the island, if one desires.Transportation

A pleasant stay...
This is a pleasant small quaint hotel. The staff is wonderful and personable. The people who stay here are from many parts of the world giving it an international feel. The restaurants on the hotel site have good food. The absolute best part of this hotel is that it is across the street of the finest beach on Aruba.

Perfectly Relaxing Week
Amsterdam Manor was absolutely the perfect place for us. Quiet. Peaceful. Relaxing. Beautiful. Great location. Best beach in Aruba. What more could we ask for? If we had stayed at a high rise I would be writing a different review. Folks from the high rises (and the cruise ships) were at "our" beach to get away from the crowds...and kids. No glitz and glamour here. Just good, clean, comfortable rooms with great service and friendly staff. When we wanted excitement, shopping, fancy restaurants, or crowds the bus was very convienent. Having the kitchenette was a real money saver. We didn't cook meals--we were on vacation after all--but we were able to prepare breakfast and some days a light lunch. We're beach people and the Amsterdam Manor fit the bill.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
We spent a wonderful afternoon on a catamaran called the Black Pearl. Wonderful experience and a very good value. Sailing, snorkeling, food, drinks, sunset, romantic...what else can I say?

Somewhat disappointed
Needs additional staff
Excellent beach; very nice room accomodations; timely and efficient maid service; good food quality for lunch but the eating area needs more attention and staff; too many birds and flies and the live in iguana above your head and then around your table needs to be diminished or eliminated; beach dining in the evening was superb with great food and service; breakfast needs improvement. The resort caters to large families which infringes on the couples when it is time to eat; easy access to the buses which are most reasonable in cost; the staff is friendly in response to a greeting, but few greetings are initiated which is in stark contrast to Puerto Plata. Some of the facilities were open on a hit or miss basis--more staff is needed.

Great Hospitality
We were able to enjoy the sun and relax on the beach which is only a couple steps away from the resort. This location was great--we were right in the middle of the High Rise Hotels and downtown Oranjestad with the bus stop right outside our door. You want to do one of the many excursions Aruba has to offer than stop at the Concierge desk and they can make it happen.

Aruba is Awesome
Perfect for a relaxing vacation
The Amsterdam Manor has terrific service - we were welcomed with rum punch and a smooth checkin. The lobby is small but has a nice book collection, and the concierge desk is staffed until 5:30pm. Three computers are available for guest use just outside the lobby. We booked a standard studio (the pictures online are all of the larger rooms), and I was disappointed in the size of the room, and the bathroom had no counter space in which to keep toiletries. Though it has a vaulted ceiling, I still felt cramped. We were offered an upgrade to another single room, but there wasn't much difference in room size. Furnishings were modern, but the tv has terrible picture quality, and you have to request a remote control from the front desk. I mentioned it was our anniversary when I called to confirm the reservation, and the reception desk indicated that they'd send a complimentary bottle of champagne to the room, but we did not receive it. Location was terrific - we had a short walk through a courtyard to the pool, which was overlooked by a deck bar. Then, the beautiful beack was across the street. The road is only 2 lanes, but during the day on the beach you do get a lot of traffic noise. We had dinner one evening at Passions on the Beach - Eagle Beach has beautiful sunsets, and it was definitely worth it. The hotel staff is the best part of this resort - they make an effort to know your name and will help with any issues or questions you have. They were very kind and welcoming.
