great quiet place. great location
Right across the street from gorgeous eagle beach. Much less people than at the high rises. Almost like your own beach with cabanas all over. Passions bar/ restaurant is there as well. fantastic place. Hotel was nice. room could have been a little bigger and bed could have been a little more comfy. But otherwise in a great location and the staff was absolutely great. Also not a huge pool like some of the huge hotels. but who needs a pool when the Super clear water is right there. Almost nothing in that water, no seaweed, no shells, nothing its pristine.

First Trip to Aruba
The hotel was perfect for us. Our main goal was to sit on a beautiful beach and relax, and The Amsterdam Manor's beach was the perfect place for us. There were always plenty of chairs, towels, and Tiki shade. The Beach Bar was convenient and the drinks were great. We had a two bedroom suite, which had plenty of room for the six of us. It had a nice balcony overlooking the pool. Transportation to downtown or the highrise area was quick and efficient. The hotel is quiet, but, it's easy to get to the more active areas of the island. The front desk staff and beach staff were wonderful. We'll be back!

Need a quiet getaway?
This was the perfect place for a chance to relax a get away from the hustle bustle of life. Mostly an older crowd, not any partying going on except at the pool bar if you had some drinkers. As other reviews have said beds are too hard but the rooms were great, kitchens well stocked with what we needed and when we wanted some excitement it was a quick drive to the high rise area to people watch. Beach is fantastic, if a pagoda has chairs with hotel towels on them and no other personal items then take it. The attendant is holding that spot for hotel guests. He also has floats you can use out in the water. We brought a soft sided roller cooler as carry on and used it at the beach for food and drinks to save money but you can get both from the bar..

Gem in Aruba
We stayed at the Amsterdam Manor over Thanksgiving and truly enjoyed our experience. The Manor could not have been more accommodating. The entire staff was incredibly helpful with bookings of dinner, taxi and just answer any and all questions. While the entire staff was great a few need to be singled out. Myra at the concierge was just wonderfully helpful. Peter was both efficient and an entertaining bartender. Juan did a great job waiting on us at Mangos. While I do not remember the names all three of the front desk people they were extremely help and handled any and all requests. We really need to give a special shout out to Stefan the regular pool bar bartender. He was unbelievable. He was funny and very informative. He gave us great suggestions for restaurants that were off the beaten path and events and activities we should check out. We cannot wait to return and see the whole group again.

We Loved It!
This was our (2 adults, 3 children ages 13, 16 & 17) trip to Aruba. We Loved the Amsterdam Manor. The staff was very helpful and friendly and responded quickly to all of our requests. The location was great as it was right across the street from Eagle Beach. The rooms were spacious (we had a 2-bedroom suite w/kitchen) and clean. However, the pull-out trundle bed under the couch was not comfortable for our kids; might work for smaller children. We would definitely stay there again and talked to others both at our hotel and neighboring hotels that loved the Amsterdam as well.

Short drive from hotel
Don't book the Carubian Festival in St. Nicholson thru the hotel; Cheaper to negotiate a cab and pay for your food and gifts direct. Hotel concierge was charging $60/person; we did it for less $20 each.

Lovely low-rise hotel
This is a beautiful European style hotel which is a wonderful contrast to the typical time-shares and all-inclusive high-rises in Aruba. I shared a 2 bedroom suite facing the ocean which was enormous, modern and had two bathrooms. It was extremely comfortable. The beach was right across the street and there were lounge chairs, palapas and towels. There was wifi throughout the hotel including the room, pool and beach which was free. We ate at both restaurants, Mangos and Passions on the Beach, which were both excellent. Every single member of the staff we met was courteous, friendly and incredibly professional. I especially appreciated on my last day being able to take a shower in a hotel room before departing for my evening plane. I plan to come back.

Quiet beach vacation
The hotel was very nice and clean. More importantly it was quiet and low key. The high rise resort and all inclusives attract the party goers and spring break type crowd. We were looking for a nice quiet week with small crowds and this place was perfect! We didn't eat at the Passions restaurant because it was kinda pricy but we did eat at Mango's. The breakfast buffet was nice and had a decent selection. The dinner at Mango's was expensive and the menu was limited. We had a 1 bedroom suite right across from Mango's and it was very nice. A lot bigger than we expected. The free Wifi service was a bit spotty but it served well enough to use skype and check in at home. Just across the street was beautiful Eagle beach where the hotel provides lounge chairs and there were plenty of spots in the shade even in the afternoon. The wifi even extends to the beach so you can FaceTime your friends and family back home and make them jealous LOL! There's enough free parking for guests that rent vehicles. Also, the public transportation bus stop is right in front of the hotel. It only costs about $2 for a round trip ticket and the buses come frequently. The ride into Oranjestad takes no more than 20 minutes. If the hotels market doesn't have everything you need, then you can take the bus about 5 minutes down the road where there are several large supermarkets (I recommend the IGA) We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others!

Get a room with a kitchenette. The supermarkets are close enough to take a bus to. We only ate out once a day so we were able to spend our money on fun activities rather than food
