Perfect Resort for Family Vacation

I was hesistant to book this resort when I read past reviews, however it was one of the nicest hotels in which we have stayed. We have stayed all over the Carribean too. I was photographing a wedding so I had some special needs and the hotel staff was quick to help when we needed anything. BTW, perfect destination wedding location! The private island was definately worth the trip. If you are looking for a wonderful time with your family, book this resort!

We strongly suggest a steak dinner at Que Pasa (spelling). One of the best meals we ever had! Eating is very expensive, so go all inclusive a couple of days if you can.

First time in Aruba

The hotel has everything, literally, that you could need for a fabulous vacation. Everyone was pleasant, available and helpful. The private island is absolutely the best place for beach lovers. Location is perfect for anything you could possibly want to do on the island.

Nice Getaway

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The rooms are generally average, but the experience is not. The staff is great! There are two parts to the hotel, Marina Bay and the Ocean Suites. Marina Bay is ADULTS ONLY, so if you want peace and quiet that is the place to stay. The staff DOES enforce the no kids policy. Marina Bay has a spa (awesome massages), a business center for computer use (although the lobby area has WiFi), and a fitness center. I don't know about the Ocean Suites. The hotel is not located on a beach, but there is a boat that will take you to the hotel's private island, hotel guests ONLY. There are two separate beach areas, one is ADULTS ONLY so there are no kids running around and screaming. The island is basically next to the airport, so you hear the planes land and take-off. It does get quite loud w/the large planes, but most of the activity is centered around the same time of day. It is louder on the adults only side. I was able to tune most of them out after a few hours; although I still heard the louder planes a few times a day. It is definitely something to be aware of ahead of time. There is a small fitness center on the island and a private area to get massages on the beach. The hotel is separated from the high rise hotels and therefore many restaurants, but you can take a cab or bus to that area. We didn't really mind; if you want to have drinks and relax, we suggest that you hang out near the pool. If you are looking for a party scene, head to the high rises. We recommend the bus b/c it costs less.

Marina Resort nice for couples

The staff is incredibly helpful and a boat comes into the hotel to take you away to the hotels private beach. Only drawback is that this hotel is a distance away from all the other major hotels.

Fantastic Getaway Destination

We spent just 5 days at the Renaissance Hotel and it seemed like a combination of the best of both worlds -- a downtown location, which allows you to enjoy local restaurants and life, and a 15-minute ride by a speedboat to a remote private island. The private island was, perhaps, the biggest hit of all -- a little piece of paradise with flamingos, pelicans and iguanas roaming the sand. Pleasant and courteous staff, great life music at night by the pool. Recommended to adults traveling without kids as a great relaxation spot.

Not sure what to think

We were there for a couple days bc of the hurricane. The staff was great... actually amazing, appearance was nice and upscale, but our room had flies or something in it that bit us. Also our pillows were not clean, floor had stuff on it, and bathroom was small. They had to beaches one was small and the other you had to take a 7 min boaf ride to get there. It was nice but planes fly very low at that point which makes it very noisey.
