Fabulous Vacation

This is just a fantastic resort. We were in a quandary about staying here versus the northern, newer part of the island. We ventured north for a fine Italian dinner, and also visited the low rise and high-rise areas. We are perfectly happy with our choice to stay in the downtown area. Many fine restaurants on the property and within walking distance. Well-maintained resort. Nightlife was lacking is my only criticism.

we keep coming back

We clearly like the private island and the location otherwise we would probably find another hotel. The Renaissance is much nicer since the renovation but still the rooms are not always as clean as you would expect. There is really no wifi in the rooms unless you happen to be close enough to the lobby to get a signal from your mini balcony unless a cruise ship is in port then the cruise ship passengers are laying all over the lobby sucking up all the wifi. When I say laying all over the lobby I mean it they are everywhere like ants it's pretty crazy. The other thing that gets me is the adults only marina hotel seems to not be so adult only anymore.Last year was the second time we have had kids on our floor. The private island is amazing and I wouldn't trade that for anything. Strangely the wifi on the private island works perfectly. I totally recommend this hotel i just always give a few warnings first. 1. it is not the Ritz don't expect perfection 2. check the cruise schedule and be prepared. 3. Enjoy the island

modern style hotel

Our stay here was good due to the fact where the hotel is located. It is close to everything. Marina is right across the street. Nice boat ride takes you to a private island which turned out better than I expected. Room was clean.

Great winter get away!

What great time we had at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. The staff was super, amenities fantastic...especially the private island! and the on site bar / pool was magical at night. We enjoyed dinner and drinks, listening to smooth jazz by the Xpressions while overlooking the beautiful on site casino. We felt no need to wander any further...maybe next time. Throughly enjoyable stay!

Great Hotel Stay Perfect Location

The hotel Staff was great, rooms are clean. Hotel has a happy hour and is located above the shopping mall. The private island is also a great since the hotel is not directly on the beach. When visiting Aruba this is my go to hotel!

Not what I was expecting

This was our honeymoon and we haven't been away in years so this trip was something we were looking forward to. The Hotel its self is wonderful and eye pleasing. However the rooms were very uncomfortable with umbrella fabric sofas that you slid right off of. The toilet is located facing the shower so in the middle of the night i smashed my face on the glass. Who sits straight up and down when they sit.. no one so why only a 1 foot clearance from the toilet to the shower. You have to close the bathroom door to turn the light on then open the door again. Pool water was freezing, so wasn't the lagoon in front. The Captains Cove restaurant was out of food when we went for the buffet and still got charged. Out flight was canceled and there was no concierge to help us and the receptionist told us to use our phone for a local call. Well when the bill came it was over 125$ just to be on hold. No help from the front desk. They were awful and their customer service was not up to par what so ever. If your 60+ like the majority of the guests than maybe the little things don't matter. But to me little things make all the difference. I would suggest another hotel with better customer service, one who cares about their guests and goes above to help them when needed. I read the other reviews and thought this place was amazing.. It wasn't
