Jewel of a hotel
This 4 star hotel is located close to shopping, restaurants, and San Martin Square. Staff is courteous, and helpful. Although we speak little Spanish, the staff was patient with us when we spoke. They also recommended places to shop and restaurants. Accommodations were excellent, nicely furnished large room and very clean.

best 4* value in Microcentro
Melia hotel has a great location in the heart of the Microcenter ( downtown area ) where all the great restaurants and shopping stores are located. The street where it is located is now a pedestrian mall. Breakfast buffet is great. 3 choices of room categories with the Superior very different with an open bathroom and very spacious with copious desk space for the businessman - for me the best value in Buenos Aires for business or pleasure.

Excellent Stay!
This hotel was perfect for us. The location is located very near all the must-see spots in the city (a few blocks from Florida, and within walking distance of the Obelisk and nearby Teatro Colon and Plaza de Mayo). The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room itself was gorgeous, clean, and very comfortable. In addition, it was quiet. Just what you need after a day in a big city. Our only complaint (and still not a huge one) was that the hotel restaurant was not competitive with surrounding restaurants. Other nearby places (such as the pub across the street) had better food for better prices.

Sightseeing tip:
Long walk from hotel
Take a tour of the Teatro Colon (two blocks from the Obelisk). You have to get there right at (or before) 9am to get a ticket for a tour that day, but it is worth it. The theater is gorgeous and has some very interesting history. We didn't get a chance to, but if you do, see a show or concert there, too. It's supposed to be incredible.

Wonderful Hotel Melia
Melia Hotel personnel services were magnificent, from calling taxis to the door to shoe shinning. They booked our night out at La Ventana Tango Show, at which we had great sitting. We booked two rooms which were confortable and adjacent to each other. This was perfect since we were traveling with a 3 years old. Rooms, bathrooms, and the hotel overall were super clean. Breakfast was plenty and service extremely organized. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Melia we stayed in is in Reconquista which was made a pedestrian street some time ago. It is close to calle Florida were one can enjoy shopping and eating in or outside restaurants. Prices are low for the quality of food and service. Prices on clothes are more or less equal to USA.

Fantastic hotel
We spent eight days exploring all that Buenos Aires has to offer. The Melia Buenos Aires Hotel served as home-base. It had clean rooms, great service, and excellent buffet breakfast; we were impressed with its daily fresh fruit offerings including mangos, kiwis, and papayas. Staff couldn't be nicer. Although on a busy street, the room's double-pane windows kept the noise out. We made good use of the hotel's three complimentary computers in its Business Center.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Los Remolinos on 957 Suipacha Street (5 blocks from hotel). Besides charge cards, the restaurant accepts U.S. dollars giving generous exchange of 4 pesos to the dollar. The restaurant offers complimentary sherry and empanadas (one of the city's best) before dinner, and complimentary lemoncelos after dinner.
