Every year the Empire Polo Club in the Southern California city of Indio hosts California's biggest and best country music festival. The beautiful grounds of the Polo Club are a stark contrast from the surrounding dessert environment. The Stagecoach Festival is a fun-filled country music event that features the most popular country stars of today, the favorites of yesteryear and upcoming future stars. Country music fans of all ages and musical tastes will hear classic country performances, bluegrass and a number of different genres in country music.
Adjacent to the performance site is a large campsite where attendees of the show can bring their trailers and motor homes and make a big three day weekend out of the event. Tickets for the Stagecoach Festival do not include rental space for the trailers and motor homes. There is a very reasonable additional charge if one wants to arrive and stay in their motor home. It is best to make reservations well in advance because spaces for the campgrounds fill up fast.
Indio is situated on the eastern edge of the beautiful Coachilla Valley. It is about 130 miles east of Los Angeles and only a very short drive to the city of Palm Springs. The Empire Polo Club hosts this event and a number of other big events during the year. Of course, the Club is primarily focused on the sport they are named after. The Stagecoach Festival borrows some of the lush green polo fields and wide open spaces to put on this always popular event.
Tickets to the Stagecoach Festival are always in high demand. At the most recent Festival, almost 50,000 country music fans watched the hottest stars in country like Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert give most memorable performances. There were old favorites like Kenny Rogers and Sheryl Crow out on stage entertaining the big crowds. Even comedian turned banjo player Steve Martin took the stage to play his bluegrass music.
When country music fans buy Stagecoach festival tickets they know they are going to hear some fantastic music. There are also other things to enjoy on the Festival grounds. Check out the big Ferris Wheel and maybe catch a glimpse of the world-famous Clydesdales parading around the grounds.
Food from many of the most popular restaurants in the area is served starting with breakfast and ending when the Festival is over for the day. There are hot dogs and hamburgers and sandwiches and salads. Cotton candy and ice cream please the sweet tooth. Cooking competitions always draw interest. Who will have the best barbeque ribs this year?
Before leaving the Stagecoach Festival stop at the general store and pick up some souvenirs to bring home as a reminder of the experience. Tee shirts, hats and posters are all for sale.
