About G-Eazy

On May 24, 1989, a young family gave birth to their son, Gerald Earl Gillum - But you might know him better by his stage name, G-Eazy. When G-Eazy was growing up, he's admitted that he always wanted to be a quarterback type figure, but he wasn't any good at sports and was instead interested in music. Can you guess which one he pursued? He grew up in Oakland, California but later moved to New Orleans to attend Loyola University to get serious about his music career. In one of his early performances, G-Eazy wore a pompadour and a leather jacket and was dubbed "the James Dean of rap." From there he has slowly started to grow in fame.

Breaking out

G-Eazy's big break came from his first mixtape "The Endless Summer." Some of his more popular songs include: "Me, Myself & I," "I Mean It" and "Everything Will Be OK." This passionate rapper-songwriter has seem many of his creations top charts. Recently, his "These Things Happen" album has earned numerous No. 1 spots on R&B Albums, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Top Rap Albums and Top Independent Albums to name just a few. His new album, "When It's Dark Out," is seeing similar success leading Top Rap Albums and R&B Albums charts again.

Chart toppers

G-Eazy tickets have not failed to entertain so far, especially since he has performed with such influential artists. He has attributed his inspiration to musicians Lil Wayne, who he has also toured with, and Johnny Cash giving him a unique sound of smooth hip-hop. Other artists have tried to boost his success as well. While G-Eazy was still in school, Drake invited him to tour for a couple of weeks. He did the tour, but had to immediately return to school after his last performance because one of his teachers would fail him if he missed one more class. In 2013, G-Eazy wrapped up his first headline tour - cheap G-Eazy tickets sold out arenas from New York to San Francisco. This tour allowed him to achieve the title of Best New Artist of 2013 by High Times Magazine and he started getting interest from performers like Lil Wayne who asked him to join his America's Most Wanted Festival national tour with TI and 2 Chainz. The Beautiful and The Damned

On December 20, 2017, G-Eazy and Halsey released their hit single "Him & I". They preformed it at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve of 2017. The two later split in July 2018.
