Orbitz Information vs Resort Information

Room was nice. Location in Building 4 was across the street from beach, which is not what we expected. Very inconvenient to ... get to beach or other amenities which were across the street on the beach side. Also, Checkin/checkout times per Orbitz was 3pm and noon, but when arrived at hotel they would only honor a 4pm checkin and a 1000am checkout. Checking out by 1000am was unreasonably rushed. Also, checkin procedure forced you to sit through a talk to get you to sign up for a 90minute time share which was upsetting as we were not here for that.

We were there for a quiet restful holiday weekend. This facility met our expectations. While it was busy, the hotel was ... quiet and very much a controlled atmosphere. While were visiting as a couple, many families were there and seemed very content. I have already scheduled another stay for next summer.

If you want the beach and minimal nightlife and quaint dining, all is within walking distance.

This is a vacation ownership resort. They offered us $100 in coupons to visit the presentation. If you're interested in joining it's a beautiful place as I'm sure their other properties are. If not, the meeting is a waste of time.

Spent most of the time on the beach with my wife and 6 years old daughter. Huge rooms, otherwise nothing special at all. I ... left my key in the room and had to wait more than 20 minutes in the line of 2 to get a new key made for me. At the time of reservation (with Orbitz) I was given 12pm check out time, when we got there it turned out to be 10am. If you want to spend your vacation time the same way you do it home and see the ocean in the window, and if you want to go to the same or very similar restaurants you could go in your city 2 or 3 blocks away from your house and after all tell your friends how great everything was, I guess this might work for you. Otherwise look elsewhere. And one more thing... the staff is not rude or careless but they also do not really smile there.

Ocean front resort not as it appears...

Hotel was advertised on "Orbitz" as "ocean front resort", so while not expecting an "ocean front view" we did expect to be ... staying on the ocean side of the boulevard. As it turns out, when we checked in we were placed in "tower 4" which is across the street. I explained to the lady that we have 1 1/2 year old daughter and my wife is 6 months pregnant with our second child and it would be difficult to cross the busy ocean boulevard street but there was no room in any of the three towers on the ocean side so we were forced to stay across the street and walk. Also, the website when we booked indicated checkout time of 12 noon but when we arrived we had to sign an acknowledgement indicated checkout time of 10 a.m. which if not met subjected us to a minimum $35 surcharge. We received notice of all of this a check-in so after waiting in line for that we were told we needed to go to a different desk to get our "parking permit". As it turns out, that was because we had to get it from sales staff who were trying to get us to commit time from our vacation to go on a sales tour to try to get us to buy timeshares. I do not plan to stay at a Wyndham again. It's unfortunate, the room itself was nice but all of the other factors made an otherwise positive experience a negative one.

Great quick Get-Away!

We reserved a 1 bdrm king and were pleasantly surprised when they upgraded us to a 2 bdrm. The unit was great, had just been ... repainted. Furnishings were very modern and the beds were very comfortable. The pools, lazy rivers and jacuzzis gave everyone plenty to do. Every staff member was pleasant and helpful. Not a single complaint. Just want to stay longer next time!

Last Minute Vacation

Me & my wife(last minute) booked a room w/in 12 hours of our arrival, not quite sure of what to expect. Our 2 other hotels ... we normally stay @ were booked, so we tried the Wyndham. All we can say is WOW!!!!! Our room was large w/ a fully-equipped kitchen, laundry room, ocean front balcony, huge bathroom w/ his/her sinks, separate shower/whirpool tub, large separate bedroom w/ king size bed, 2 tvs, & not to mention, it was decorated beautifully & very modern. We couldn't have asked for a better room & vacation. We will be staying @ the Wyndham again, as 2x per year we visit Myrtle Beach. It was by far a much cleaner, up-to-date decor, larger unit, & much better facilites than where we have stayed before. Extremely happy couple from Lynchburg, VA. We will only stay @ the Wyndham from now on!! Thank you for a great vacation.

The Melting Pot is amazing! Incredible food, romantic, large wine selection, & top notch service all around. It is our favorite restaurant in Myrtle & we visit there everytime we're in Myrtle.
