Arrived early and was able to check in. The hotel was just opened six months ago and is very nice. There were many ... opportunities for good shopping before we set off to an engagement we had that evening. Woke up to a very nice breakfast before heading home.

We had a wonderful time at the Nascar Races and because of the location of the hotel we were able to get to the track in ... minutes. It made the trip a very fun and relaxing time. Staff was awsome.

About 2 mins if that down the road is the Short Pump Town Center. Has almost any kind of shopping you may need, along with some good food stops, a movie theater, and the funny bone for those comedy lovers.

The Fireside restaurant, in a shopping center near the hotel was an excellent steak and seafood choice. Ask at the desk. We got a coupon for a free appetizer that turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

Super easy check in--the staff could not have been nicer or more accomdating. The rooms are really nice-it's so rare to get ... full fridge. While the location may not be the best, the ammenities and staff more than make up for it.

Great location, NEW and very clean. The rooms are a nice size and I usually dread the "old" or dirty smell that some hotels ... have but this one was absolutely great. We stayed in a regular room and a suite and the beds were comfortable, bathrooms nice, and tvs were flat screen LG's. Expensive but we got a deal since we were staying 3 nights and I know that if you look online, certain times during the day the price drops a little. The breakfast was fairly good, just what you would expect at a hotel. I also thought most of the staff was very friendly and nice...overall a great hotel in my opinion!

It wasn't to bad actually. We stayed here while we were in town meeting with someone friends for a birthday celebration. The ... hotel had a quick check in and check out, a solid breakfast (nothing to fancy, but perfect for quick and filling), and the staff was more than willing to help with any questions or area info I needed (ex. multiple phone #s to taxis for coming back from downtown). I enjoyed it!

Great Value for Quiet Getaway

My wife and I went to Richmond to get away from our day to day stresses, which are considerable right now. The hotel was an ... excellent choice. It was quiet and clean, and the service was excellent. While not excellent, the hotel's location was acceptable, about 10 minutes from the loop that goes around Richmond.There were also good restaurants in the immediate area. The only problems we had were that the TV channels were too limited and that the fitness room didn't have free weights. Still, an excellent value.

The hotel is a new hotel and was perfect for our purpose. New very nice hotel. The rooms are perfect, except for the fact ... that the air conditionner was directly on our bed and very noisy. we could not really control it, so it would of been a problem if we would of stayed there numerous nights. Staff really nice. I recommand eating at the cheesecake factory (it's a full supper restaurant, not only cheesecake).

Short Pump Town Center has fantastic shopping. If you travel along Broad Street, you will be able to find almost every type of store or restaurant. Wingate has taken time to attend to details like big, fluffy pillows. The only thing I would change is the size of the napkins at breakfast: Use dinner size napkins instead of beverage size napkins.

Nice hotel, not the best for business

Nice hotel, but I wouldn't recommend it for business travelers that need detailed documents for expense reports. These guys ... couldn't give me anything when I checked out to show how much the room was and what the breakdown of charges was all because I booked via Orbitz. I've stayed @ other hotels where I've prepaid through a travel site and I didn't even have to ask for a detailed receipt of the charges, some have even gone as far as slipping it under my door on the morning of my checkout day. But this place, couldn't give me anything. I won't stay there again simply because of this since it makes filing expense reports a pain after my trip if I have no documents to attach to my expense report for the hotel fees.

Came in for the Richmond NASCAR race and hotel had many other NASCAR fans. [...] at front desk was fantastic looking up the ... weather forecast for us to check for rain. Breakfast buffet was very good, but I would suggest to anyone that you get thier early as after 8-8:30 very little seating left. The woman taking care of the buffet did an excellent job as well. Very relaxing and clean hotel! Would stay here again. Great location with all kinds of shops, and food establishments as well.
