The front desk was wonderful. Room was changed after arrival.
Lynne Mar 15, 2008
The room was disappointing but it was changed when we went to the desk. The grounds were just beautiful. Our new room ... overlooked the ocean but was noisy with the construction. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Rodney Bay was about a 10 minute drive, and Castries was about 15 minutes away. The golf course at the Country Club was fair (about 20 minutes away). It was nice to leave the grounds for a few evening meals. The water sports were a blast (and most of them free).

My review of Windjammer Landing Villa Resort
Valerie Sep 24, 2007
My husband and I went to Windjammer for our honeymoon. We both hated the island and the place so much that we cut our trip ... short and left after two days rather than the seven. We felt very trapped at the resort as there was barbed wire everywhere in Castries and driving is not recommended. The only way out was excursions that cost a lot of money. We did not take any excursions, perhaps other parts of the island are better. The hotel staff seemed pretty unpleased to be working and we left with many of our requests never having been met. The kicker for me was the stray cats that would beg at our tables at every meal. There were even stray dogs at the resort. The only way I can see someone enjoying there stay on St. Lucia is if they can turn a blind eye on the human and animal misery surrounding them. I'm not sure any hotel would have corrected that situation, but the Windjammer certainly didn't make the stay any more pleasant.

Very Friendly Staff
Paul Jul 11, 2007
We were greeted by some very friendly staff members, but check in took way too long. This may be because we arrived a couple ... of hours before the standard check-in time. Still, I feel, the hotel could have done more to check us in faster. The room was nice. The only complaints we have is that you could clearly hear the people in the rooms adjacent to ours. Other than that, the hotel was great...especially the staff. St Lucians are extremely friendly and beautiful people. Good hotel in a great setting.

Unfortunately, the hotel is sort of secluded as is the case with many resorts. However, Rodney Bay and Castries are a short taxi ride away ($20).

Great resort
Katherine Jun 19, 2007
I found this resort to be very friendly and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Very nice setting, great beach, ... good for children as well as adults, not good for the senior traveler as very hilly location. Upon check-in they upgraded us to a 3 bedroom, with me not even having to ask! I was traveling with my 2 sisters so because of that we did not have to share! I loved the open living concept of the villa's but it might not appeal to everyone. Overall, I found this resort exceeded my expectations.

Tropical Paradise
Jackie Jun 11, 2007
The Windjammer Landing was a tropical paradise. From the complimentary rum punch upon arrival to scheduling shuttle and taxi ... rides and having tropical fruit bowls delivered while my daughter got dressed for her wedding, we were all treated like VIPs. In fact, every guest at Windjammer got the VIP treatment! Our 3-bedroom villa was roomy enough to hold a cocktail party for 20 people the night before my daughter's wedding. Each evening, all the beds were decorated with towels folded into swans or fans complete with fresh flowers. All the staff were impeccably dressed and courteous. There is a mini-market on the grounds, so we were able to purchase food for breakfast and snacks if we chose not to eat in the restaurants. Food was excellent and reasonably priced.

Don't rent a car! Roads are very narrow, hairpin turns, up and down mountains. Take a taxi. We did not leave the resort except for escursions. Rodney Bay mall is within a 5 minute drive.
