Still great hotel

I just stayed at this hotel in September and thought it was wonderful! I still think it is, however because I payed $20 below ... rack rate I got the worst room in the house! Aecond floor (really the first) right above the dumpster with a view of the alley and apartments across the way. Now the room was the same as last time but I had to leave blinds closed while I was in because of total lack of privacy! Next time I will ask for a room at front of hotel or in back above the 2nd floor! The hotel has free parking, free & ample breakfast, and every afternoon fresh baked cookies !

Conviences and Comforts of Home

I traveled into the Seattle area on short notice for a somewhat stressful event. The conviences afforded by the hotel, their ... staff, and their location relieved the stress of some of the minor details allowing me to focus on the conference. Provided with the room was not just coffee but popcorn and tea. They also offered a variety of carts filled with different activities to pass time constructively, enabling the television to remain off. After the long day, I was pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary happy hour of drinks and light snacks. It was very easy to focus on the task of the trip and then to decompress. The key card protected elevator kept only those with room keys and the creative off the patron's floors. Many thanks to the Watertown's Management and staff for thinking through a few extra details, extending the creature comforts beyond the clumsy basics.

Sophistication In Seattle
College Bound Oct 18, 2009
The Watertown Hotel was a real treat! I was there with my daughter to visit the University of Washington. The hotel is ... centrally located near U of W and just 3 miles from downtown, with easy underground parking. The hotel is beautiful, the design and aesthetics are urbane and sophisticated. The staff friendly and helpful. The room was small and clean and though located directly above a busy street, the noise was minimal. Many nice ammenities; Aveda products, fluffy robes, herbal tea in the room. No room service although the staff was helpful with local restaraunts that delivered. There was also a small make-shift "store" where snacks, sodas, etc could be bought. The breakfast was a step up from the typical "continental fare" great scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, a variety of cold cerals, good juice, yogurts, fresh fruit, pastries....very nice. It would be nice if they had a shuttle to the University as the daily parking was costly. We stayed for 3 nights and it appeared that housekeeping did not change our sheets after first night, second night was fine. Also they didn't do a great job of vacuming. Overall though I would give this hotel a solid "A" and would absolutely stay there again!

We had a wonderful late lunch at an Indian restaraunt called "Cedars" on Brooklyn Ave in Seattle. The Tandoori Salmon, and the Chichen Tikka were yummy and the Spinach Nan bread was spectacular. It was the perfect lunch on a rainy Seattle day. The waiter was attentive and kind. Just a bit pricey as I was treating two college students (lunch for the 3 of us was $50.00 without tip) but it was delightful and delicious!

Hate to give away a great secret, but this hotel is a hidden gem. Just an exit out of downtown, you never have to worry ... about downtown traffic and parking (it's free). Hotel is very modern & clean. Hotel staff is very nice. Free daily newspaper, breakfast and in the afternoon they have fresh baked cookies. This will be my go-to hotel for all future trips to Seattle.

Very personal staff. I wanted some OJ but the small hotel store didn't sell so it the front desk person offered it to me for ... free from the breakfast area. Plus when I told my infant was asleep and my husband wasn't going to be back for a while she offered and brought it up to my room. The room has a great layout and everything's thought out. Only a tad noisy due to the street below but not bad enough to taint the overall beautiful design of the hotel, free parking and great functioning room.
