We enjoyed staying at the Marriott in Wailea. The hotel property is just the right size with convenience to pool, beach and ... restaurants. You won't meet a more friendlier, welcoming person like her anywhere! Enjoyed area restaurants as well. Check out Capische and Cafe Ole which were both recommended by the concierge. Hotel is located in Wailea, personally i believe the best area of maui. The infinity pool and the garden that overlooks the ... occean is wonderful. The boardwalk next to the occean connects most of south maui - and this marriott is at the heart of it. It still manages to be very-very quite and serene. However, I wasn't too impressed with the service at the hotel. Few instances like - - floor wasn't mopped my entire stay. The sunscreen usage had made the floor next to the bathroom lil sticky. I asked them to clean that but they werent too much in a rush and also did a poor job when they finally got to it. - The whole time the staff were trying to sell something rather then provide service - i personally hate that. - The server at the hotel resturant is really horrible - both by looks and by nature.... - The concierge and the bell-staff isnt corteous and always gives a sense of doing you a favor. The in-dinning menu prices are different then what gets charged. The quality of food is sub par and below-average compared to food of similiar price range restaurats on the island. BTW food on whole maui is expensive. It is still a good place to stay but expect more of the maui then services while you are there.

Get your snorkel gears from Snorkel bob the day you land for the entire trip duration which would cost teh same as renting it from the hotel for a day! Drive yourself to Hana and Halekala - group tours sucks mainly because you are packed like catlles in a mini van. No matter what they say - its not fun and driving yourself is worth the thrill and i dont think it is as risky as ppl make it out to be. (I live in NY and i drive once in a blue moon and i could do it in a big SUV with a wife that shrieks the moment she gets a chance). Skip the bike to halekala and drive that as well and leave really really early - like 2 am! whihc means make this trip at the start of your trip. Dont eat at sunrise cafe on your way down - bad food and extremely overpriced.

The service is great. They find way to accommodate our request to change room to an upper level when we first arrive and ... view our room! They accommodate us again when we want to check out a little later. Room is clean, spacious, best view above all luxurious hotels in Maui for sure - we went around all Maui beach front and confirm this hotel has the absolute best view, the best and longest walking trail, second best beach (after Kannapali). The hotel is next to the best shopping in Maui (Wailea Marriot Shopping Center). Though it's nothing compared to an upscale mall in mainland, it's the best in Maui. The hotel is also next to Makena Golf course and State park and the Seawatch restaurant with the best view.

Wailea Beach Marriott
John Oct 18, 2009
This stay was a week break from a busy schedule, and what a place to do it. this resort is ideally located along the ... southwest of Maui. The sunsets are beautiful, you ahve easy access to a mall behind the property that has severl VERY good restaurants, the most notable of which is Longhi's. There is a general store in the mall for every day needs that is reasonably priced. The resort is just south of Kehei which is worth exploring. Many of the resonably proced snorkeling and scuba trips leave out of Kehei boat ramp. We took both types of trip. We recommend B&B Scuba for dive trips. We used the Haleakula Bike Company for our trip down Haleakula. Two pieces of advice here--make sure that your tour is with Frank the bus driver. He alone is worth the price of admission. Second, this is not for the faint of heart. Traveling 30-40 miles per hour on a bike down hill while riding your brakes can be a bit unnerving. You adjust after the first couple of miles. Don't do the sunrise trip, take the mid day trip, the scenery is better and the temperatures more reasonable.

The Wailea Marriott was Nice
M Oct 14, 2009
[...] Our first contact at the Wailea Marriot was not good. The person who did not help us ([...]) was terrible, send her to ... CHARM School please. The Hotel was nice and the Infinity pool for adults only was great. We attended the Lua, the food was okay and the show was good. We drove the road to Hana which was fun, but dangerous. The Shops at Wailea were excellent. We drove up north to Lahaina and that was very ghetto and trashy. The parking Lot at the Hotel was Horrible, the spaces are extremely little and the people there drive like maniacs. One night, I was awoken at some hissing type noise and it turned out to be a giant bug in our room, I did not sleep well that night and we were not compensated for it. During our a stay the weather was very hot and HUMID.

Nice hotel in a great location
guillaumep Sep 28, 2009
We had a very nice stay at the Marriott (at the end of the month of August). The resort contains quite a few buildings and it ... takes a little time to understand where all the facilities are located. Arriving at the hotel feels nice. Checking in was smooth and quick. Room service is good and efficient. The room was clean and we had the view we expected, with a nice patio. What we liked less is the tiles on the floor, instead of a nice carpet that would make to rooms more welcoming. The adult pools are great (and not to crowded) and offer a great view on the ocean. The breakfast is nice and offers a great view on the ocean. The Marriott's location was great. In the area, there is small mall that is fairly nice, with a few restaurants. There are some nice beaches in the area, like for example Big Beach (accessible by car, few miles away).

In the middle of paradise
Squibbs and Bu Sep 23, 2009
We were feeling alot of stress in our lives- so we needed a vacation that would make the stress dissappear. The Wailea ... Marriott did exactly that-the bed in our room was unbelievable. It took the lions share of our stress away the first night - we slept so soundly for 10 hrs and awoke to a wondwerful breakfast in our room and ate it on our patio where we could walk right out on to the beautiful grass where with a few steps we could be at the spectacular infinity pool or the beach - our patio faced both - it was awsome. The shops at Wailea were within walking distance which we loved- we also enjoyed walks along the beach and snorkled quite a bit - it was beautiful perfect snorkling right there at our resort - we saw sea turtles, eels, and many colorful fish. The Golfing was awsome - beautiful views. In fact with views of Molikini, Lanai and other islands in our opinion one trully feels as though they are in the middle of Paradise.

Great Hotel, great price for what they offered. Amazing swimming pools and there open until really late. Good service, easy ... check-in easy check-out, really nice area. I would recommend this place. Pancake Sep 14, 2009
Our stay at the Marriott was quite good. The hotel is a maze of buildings and can be a long (and confusing) walk to your ... room if you're staying in one of the southernmost buildings. Also, the place didn't have as "exclusive" a feel as the Marriott on the Big Island but it still was nice. The room was clean and we had a great view. Room service was good but spendy as expected. We had a problem with our TV remote and maintenance was prompt and solved the problem. The adult pool was great - the view was perfect and it was a great place to lounge. We rented a cabana and spent all afternoon there and stayed to watch the sunset. The Marriott's location was great. We were near excellent beaches (Wailea Beach was right outside our window) but even better, the town of Kihei is a short 5-minute drive. We opted to eat and shop in Kihei nearly every day, which saved us from paying the hotel prices for food. Also, proximity to the Shops at Wailea mall was nice.

We thought Marriott was synonomous with "hotel with lots of children"--and we traveled without any. Boy, were we pleasantly ... surprised. The kids' pool has a separate building adjoining it. We were in the Ocean View overlooking from the terrace the adults-only "Serenity Pool" and the ocean beyond. The staff was exceptionally accomodating. The location--Wailea in Maui--couldn't have been better. It's an upscale community consisting mostly hotels. And the particular "Marriott" beach was far less crowded than the nearby "Four Seasons" and "Grand Wailea" beaches. Plus, beaches south of the hotel were even more sparse.
