We celebrated our anniversary. The Brochure had pictures showing a very beautiful hotel which was fine entering and being in ... the lobby of the hotel. After that the first room the AC and Fridge did not work. This room seemed pleasant enough and the front desk was very good in relocating us to a new room. The second room had a great AC and fridge and looked different or as you might say a difference between night and day., We found when renting a room make sure you check in the daylight hours. Things that went unnoticed at first in the second room at night were. 1. Sunlight came through curtains that were ripped shredded and torn above the window AC. 2. Killed a nice size cockroach going to the restroom in the middle of the night. 3. Back to the curtains at one time it looked like a two inch flood had gone through the room soaking the bottom of the curtains leaving water stains and black dirt. 4. Tile had been scraped time after time until it was pitted from visitor luggage being ran and or pulled over it. 5. Traffic on street and voices from other rooms and people can be heard quite easily. 6. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. 7. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with required entities. 8. The television worked well, but had a kitchen in the first room but not in the second. ( No place to eat.) 9. Had a beautiful ocean view and a good top level look at the zoo and diamond head and the street life below. 10. The hotel clerk was friendly, professional and tried to do the best with what she had. 11. Pool needs longer open hours.

The goog, the bad...and the really bad
John Aug 1, 2009
This is not an hotel, its condos for gays, with disco up to 5 a.m. No staff at the reception, no phone in the rooms, no ... service, nothing. So if you think you are staying in a hotel...avoid the place like the swine flue. Its a joint for very sexualy active gays and drag queens....period. Not for family, nor couple (unless gay couples...mainly guys) or gays that want to get a one night stand. The place is totally abandoned and should be closed.

The hotel is ok
Oahu love Jun 23, 2009
The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the hotel is perfectly located. It takes just a minute of walking and your ... at the beach. There's also the zoo just across the street and diamond head is just a short drive away. I had to switch rooms because the first room didn't have internet access which I was told each room had one. But the staff was more than happy to give me another room which was actually a lot nicer than the first. The only thing that I really didn't like was that they do have a bug problem in both of the rooms that I was in. You really can't leave food out or sooner or later you'll see them crawling all over it.

Good location with basic living
Ann Jun 15, 2009
The hotel was in a great location right by the beach. We were very disappointed with our room it smelled like paint and was ... the size of a closet. When we complained about the paint we were upgraded to a different room. The hotel does not provide room cleaning or new towels, which should be stated on the website. Only after a 7 day stay will they provide maid service. The staff could have cared less about our stay, and had an attitude. All in all the hotel was fine but dont expect ANY extras even towels.

Nothing Great To Offer
dontavious Jan 27, 2008
This hotel has many problems it needs to work on. The parking deck can hold only about 8 to 10 cars at the most. The laundry ... room and the parking deck is in the same location in stead of the laundry room being in the hotel. The bed looks like it will fall if you get in it and plus the room has ROACHES ROACHES AND MORE ROACHES. The lamps doesn't work in some rooms and the view is terrible their.

terrible bed
Merton Jun 11, 2007
We stayed only one night because the bed was rock-hard, the kind of solid bed my grandparents would buy. It made for a bad ... night's sleep, especially for someone with back problems. The worst part of it was because the Waikiki Grand is a condotel, there seemed no way to switch rooms or make suitable adjustments. And the hotel staff didn't make any suggestions to fix the problem. Fellow traveler, don't stay at the Waikiki Grand, and BE CAREFUL if you book accommodations at a condotel!

NO PARKING. There actually was a full 24-hour no room cleaning with clean linens. They were not friendly in particular. It ... gave you the feeling the hotel must be having hard times. I could go on, but why beat a dead horse.
