great hotel - superb bar
JT Sep 29, 2009
We were in town for the football game. We traveled with our 3-month old son. The W is always wonderfully swanky and this ... hotel was no different. They were completely cool with us sitting in the bar with our son. It allowed us to have a great vacation without our new addition slowing us down at all. We loved it.

Overall the property is beautiful. Key cards had to be re-programmed 5 times in three days. Extremely over-priced and staff ... needs a few lessons in customer service.

Parking is easily found on the street during the weekends. There are also several parking garages in the area that can offset the $28/24hours W hotel cost.

Beuatiful, modern, hip hotel in a grest location of the city. Prohibition bar was pretty swanky, although the drinks were a ... little pricey. Great service, answered any and all questions.

W Minneapolis--Wow.
Tally ho Sep 7, 2009
The W Minneapolis was incredible. From the minute we arrived, the people at the front desk were considerate and personable. ... We initially were concerned about the location of our room. So we went to the front desk where personnel showed us a room on a higher floor. Becuase the Foshay tapers as it goes higher, the size of the rooms become smaller the higher the floor. The room was interesting and the shower was amazing. It was the size of a walk-in closet complete with a rain shower and halogen light. Prohibition is a bar located on the 27th floor of the building. Again, totally cool with very personable servers. They offer a good happy hour. Some of the other choices for food: Keys in the Foshay for breakfast. The service is quick and the food is good. Hell's Kitchen is one block and supposed to be amazing for brunch. Make sure you call for reservations as the place was packed with an hour and a half wait. Overall, the W minneapolis is an intriguing place to stay. It offers a cutting-edge venu, a personable approach and a great location.

Overnight to escape remodeling
Gary Jul 25, 2009
Everything in the hotel is incredibly dark. It is difficult to see the buttons in the elevator. The halls, living room and ... concierge areas are too dark to be comfortable. There is a raised area between the bar and the couch in the room. While I knew it was there, I still stumbled over it while opening the curtains in the morning. That raised platform is dangerous. Why is there no price list for items in the room bar? Valet parking, while convenient, is too expensive. We were in the hotel for less than 24 hours and were charged for 2 days of valet parking at $28.00 per day. The hotel staff members are very friendly and pleasant, but they cannot offset the depressing atmosphere.

Great Service but...
ofuji Jul 19, 2009
The Foshay hotel was really great. We were so happy to stay this hotel because they provided great fitness room, good service ... and friendly concierge. However, we have in trouble when we came back our home. I checked my visa statement, hotel charged hotel fee and other charge to my visa. We have already paid through the orbiz but hotel charged accomodation fee again. I guess another charge is refrigerator, however, we are not drinking anything from there...This is really disappointed.

best hotel ever
pam Jun 15, 2009
I can not say enough good things about this hotel. The room was very clean, awesome shower. Wonderful little samples from ... bliss spa (love them too). Cool decor, nice view. Super comfy bed. The best thing about this hotel was the staff, they were A+++! No lie, everybody was so pleasant and extremely helpful, they were above and beyond. Ate at Keys in the hotel, very good. Bar on 27th floor, super cool. Like I said this hotel was awsome, I will be back for sure. Had a late night out and not a single knock at the door from housekeeping, how great is that and how many people can say that?

Unbelievable Elegance

The hotel was wonderful with outstanding amenities. My wife and I went because it was close to the Orpheum Theatre and we ... wanted to see a show. The location is awesome as it is close to several venues of entertainment and some great dining. The room itself was immaculate and stylish.
