Keep Searching ! Not a Good Value !!!!!

Fionaflower Apr 11, 2009

The staff at this hotel pretty much are clueless as to what the word "vacation " means ! They arent well informed about the ... area . You will be told the beach is just across the street . Walk to the beach and you will be told you cannot stay there. The beach across the street hires their own security who will pretty much tell you , you cannot use their chairs or youre just not wanted on thier beach .Yes all beaches in st lucia are open to the public, but all the hotels located on the beach hire security who wont let you use their chairs etc . Youre better off staying at a beachfront hotel ( especially if you are the type of person who loves lounging on the beach)! At the village inn you cannot have breakfast barefooted . I was told by one of the waitress who is also a bartender at the pool bar , that i cannot dine for breakfast unless i have shoes on . Isnt vacation about relaxation and feeling relaxed . I never felt this way at the Village Inn . They do have a great pool and the breakfast is delicious, the variety at breakfast is great. This was the only plus . It is very noisy at this hotel . the hotel is on the very end of a street and there are residential homes around the area . You will hear children playing , dogs barking , pretty much everything. The only way to have a good nights sleep is to get drunk ! You will be sound asleep and wont be bothered by the noise ! The manager needs to train the staff at this hotel . They should know about activities in the area and entertainment etc. They are clueless . Dont even bother taking the 10% coupon off for the spa when you check in . At the spa you will be charged 10% for a service fee ..lol..yup ! . I got pretty much frustrated with the staff when i asked for them to reserve a helicopter or a boat for me to travel to soufriere which is on the other side of the island ( driving is a killer ..you get sick within minutes) . After two days of requesting this service no one answered or cared to give me any information . Needless to say i called around and chartered my own boat . The staff at this hotel needs to do much better ! St lucia is a beautiful islands and i visit here very often. I have been to pretty much every islands in the caribbean but st lucia is the best by far. This hotel needs to do much better or slash the price . There is no value here !!

If you are staying in Rodney Bay and desire local food youre better off going to Gros islet . The food is much better , you get to mingle with the locals who are very friendly. When staying in rodney bay each hotel might tell you to go to the LIME for local food . The LIME does have some good music bands ( plus they have a nightclub too ) , but the food is horrible ( they need better cooks ) , i have been trying the food here for sometime now . Youre better off going to Gros Islet. The lime is way overpriced as well !!

Colse to activities and restaurants

Would recommend to a friend!

The Village Inn and Spa was a good choice for our first trip to St. Lucia .It was close to the beach and we liked the layout ... of the hotel. Some very good restaurants were within walking distance of the Inn.Some of the staff seemed not to know that they were there to be of service to the guests. Some were not very friendly and we did not understand why this was the case. Maybe they just need training. All in all ,we were satisfied with the food, the amenities and the comfort of this hotel.

Very Family Friendly

donna May 15, 2007

Would recommend to a friend!

The Village Inn and Spa was comfortable, there was one chair and no desk. The hotel is centrally located to numerous ... restaurants which are all in walking distance. The beach is directly across the street, and the ocean was wonderful. The only downfall was the hotel was unable to provide a working iron, upon several requests, and the refrigerator was not working properly. The staff were hard workers that were extremely catering and pleasant.

Spinnackers is a nice reasonable restaurant for breakfeast, lunch and dinner. Service and food are outstanding. Do NOT eat at Eagle's Inn, poor service, failed to provide vegetables and provisions as described on their menu.
