Great service but not a 4 star hotel
beni Sep 28, 2009
This is not a 4 star hotel. The staff was great but the hotel itself was in need of many repairs. The main front door is ... broken. One of the two elevators was broken. The floors need refinishing. The A/C which did not work very well stopped working altogether after my 2nd of a 9 day stay. The furniture in the lobby is worn. My phone was broken in that the plug that secures the cord was broken. When I asked for it to be fixed the maintenance guy shoved the plug back in so it would get a ring tone but if you tried to use it it just fell right back out again. The location is awesome. I did have a great time since I didn't spend that much time in the room.

Go out the front door and turn right about a block and a half to Rue Mouffetard and turn right and head up a couple blocks to a wonderful variety of restaurants.

Did not seem like a 4 star hotel
Newly married couple Sep 21, 2009
We got a pretty good rate on the room at this hotel but I would have been pretty disappointed if I'd paid full price for the ... room. They put us in a room right next to the elevator which was very loud and was going constantly. I think they probably put us in this room because we paid such a low rate but it disappointing. There were holes in the curtains and one of the lamp shades was falling off. The room layout was done poorly which made it difficult for my wife to get ready and the room lighting was very low. The only redeeming aspect of this hotel was its location but I'd check around because there were 3 star hotels that look a lot nicer basically next door to this one.

Review of the Villa Pantheon
Tom Sep 8, 2009
This was our first time to Paris so weren't sure what to expect. Hotel was in an excellent location, convenient to metro ... lines and close to Notre Dame. Best way I can describe this hotel is adequate. It was a clean, friendly place to stay in a good location. You will not be impressed by the service or the accomodations but they were good for the amount of time we spent in the hotel. Room was small which I'm told is typical. They run on a bare minimum of staff so don't be expecting First Class service complete with room service etc.... What you can expect is a front desk staff (1 at a time on duty) that is always friendly and eager to answer your questions. It was a safe, comfortable place to sleep and rest up for each day's journey into the city.

Buy the metro pass and learn to use the system to get to most of the things you want to see/do. It was a great way to get around and a lot less expensive than the taxi.

Mr. and Mrs. Doctor Sep 2, 2009
My wife and I stayed there and we just traveled around Paris for 2 days. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from a good ... metro stop. But there was lots of places to eat near the hotel. We also had a problem of no towels. Even after we asked for them. Then when we finally got some the next day they took them away again.

good location
Jnternational traveller Aug 30, 2009
When we arrived at the hotel there was no bell boy to take care of the luggage. We were informed that he was on ... vacation. There were no bath towels & bath mat in the bath room. we were there 3 days and the bath towel problem was there everyday. We practically had to beg to get bath towels every day. On the day of arrival we had to manage only with face towels. We had to struggle at least 10 minutes to open the room door. It seemed like it was a system which was pre French Revolution. The only saving grace was the desk clerk [...] who was extremely helpful during our stay at the hotel, but for him the stay would have been terrible.

The courteousness of the hotel staff was largely determined by who manned the front desk- we asked for dinner suggestions, ... and directions to Eiffel Tower and were told we had to wait for concierge. The young lady at the desk the next day, however, was very helpful. In July, air conditioner did not work and we were assured it would be fixed yet it never was- very hot room.

Around corner on Saint Michel was a great little grocer- we bought fresh prepared salds and had picnic lunch in Luxemborg Gardens- a great treat.

One of the best Hotel Stays in Paris
Once a year to Europe May 11, 2009
While we travelled in Spring and it is normally cold in Paris it was warm overall. They had not turned on the air ... conditioning yet. The rooms could get stuffy but opening the window alloweed fresh air in and cooled the room off well. Overall the staff was friendly and courteous, they even helped us get around the city when we had questions.
Traveler type: Family
Buy the Museum pass for 2, 4 or 6 days well worth it. Also, buy a Metro pass for the time there as it is easy to get around once you learn how to read the maps, while it is not as easy as Wash DC and London it is pretty easy to figure out.
