Great Value for the Money
SteveSF Sep 20, 2009
The service at Villa La Estancia is top notch. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The location was ... excellent - only 15 minute walk to town. The pools were beautiful clean and not overly crowded. The rooms were spacious (we had a one bedroom), clean and well furnished. The bathrooms were quire nice and the kitchen well equipped (even a juicer!). The only bad experiences that we had was the brown water that we experienced in our unit. It was the worst in the tub. In addition, we had a slight problem with ants in the kitchen. We would definitely stay here again.

good location and service
esg Aug 5, 2009
The Hotel was very nice. We had a good view of the ocean from our balconey. The beach was beautiful as was the overall ... scenery. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only three complaints: 1) not enough garbage pails in the room (only one in the bathroom), 2) we ran out of complimentary coffee filters (3 of them) for the coffee pot and when we asked for ONE more they said we needed to buy it at the mini-mart, and 3) they had maintenance staff clean the pool during the day while the guests were enjoying the amenity and although it was slightly disturbing (noise, commotion, etc.), it was really uncomfortable to watch these men scrub the pool in the heat. perhaps they are used to it but it seemed rather inhumane to have the maintenance staff maintain the pool during the hottest part of the day.

Great Experience - Seemed very safe & like new. Had rm on 5th flr w/ view of rocks. Venders do walk the beach but for the ... most part are respectful. Take the boat trip to the rock for $ 10 a head. Crowded beach but amazing. Mi casa was nice family resturant- dont forget to bring your coupon. No time share sells pitch. We got a 15% coupon on food since my wife listened to a 20minute presentation. Worth it. 7/2 & 7/3/09

Wow we loved this place!!!
Nick Y. Jul 5, 2009
My wife and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary in Cabo and stayed at Villa La Estancia. We stayed in a 1-bedroom villa ... and were blown away with the size of it and how new/nice it was. We had a perfect ocean view from the veranda and the the water is so blue. The location is great because you can easily walk to the beach bars (The Office, Mango Deck, Billigans) if you want and even to town by the Marina in about 30 minutes (where many of the other bars and restaurants are. The food at the resort is excellent at La Casona and we ate by the pool for breakfast. There are also two adjoining resorts that are next door and seem to be for more of a family and/or younger crowd (we liked a little more quiet by the pool at La Estancia). There is a market, cafe and ice cream shop right between La Estancia and the neighboring hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful...in fact the concierge booked all of our excursions for us and also recommended all of the dinners we had in town. We will totally come ack to Cabo and probably stay at La Estancia again!
Traveler type: Couples
When we checked in the staff asked if we would like to attend a complimentary breakfast to discuss real estate options on the property in exchange for a discount card that got us 10-40% off many restaurants and activities. We were expecting a full-on 'time share' proposition, but it was much more laid back than that. We actually did have a lot of questions about the property and the deals and enjoyed our discussion with the sales executive. There was no real pressure and only took about an hour...totally worth it as we saved a bunch of money on food and excursions.

Great! 2nd stay this year
manamana Jul 1, 2009
This was our 2nd stay at Estancia this year, this time for an extended stay of 6 days. We really enjoy it, the villas are ... great, the staff very friendly, and the location just off of town is perfect. The cons are it's low dining choices and no real "bar" to hang out at if you don't feel like going into town for some drinks. Those are not that much of a downside, we prefer to eat out or cook in the villa anyway. Great place even for the $. I'm sure we'll be back again.

upgrade was impossible at check-in, however, the bell boy was able to upgrade with one quick phone call. staff are ... wonderful. hotel prices are ridiculous unless you're booking through cheap tickets, etc. food & drinks are overpriced so we made lots of stops at walmart & the local liquor stores. any purchased items at the hotel (drinks, food, massage) is charged to the room. get the gold card--not pushy about timeshares at all!! nightlife was not too far, but definitely not walking distance. same for dining out & shopping. i was happy with the accomodations since there were 18 of us, we never had a problem. the pool was quiet & relaxing and you're on medano beach--a must! overall, it was an amazing trip! =)

The hotel was wonderful the staff was great and the location was good, the only problem we had and it was not the hotel or ... the staffs problem when this was booked through orbitz it was an all inclusive and when it was finalized they apparently changed it. so when we arrived we were told it was not all inclusive and it cost us alot of extra money we did not plan on but the stay was still wonderful.

This hotel is perfectif you want to get away and just enjoy nice peace and quiet. The location of the hotel is also perfect ... because its not far away from the the town but the scenery is also beautiful. Your room will most likely have a wonderful scenery even if you choose the partial ocean view/garden view. The staff here were so helpful and friendly. I cannot believe what type of service they did!!!!!

Great Hotel and location - paid a lot through Orbitz and only rec'd a "garden view" room - not equal to the amount paid, we ... should definitely made sure when we booked that we would have an Ocean View. 1st, If you have made shuttle arrangements with taxi service. You will see exit after getting your baggage, go throught the doors toward a counter where you will see a bunch of sales people trying to get you to stop. Don't! just go straight outside to your right which is the exit for the taxi services. You will find your person waiting for you. Inside are all Timeshare Sharks. If you don't you will be upset later. I would suggest that you go to Walmart/Costco the 1st day. It cost $7.00 to get and downtown Cabo. Both are in walking distance and it's a good idea to bring your walking shoes. It takes 15-20 minutes to walk to either. Costco is further and cost a little more to get to.
