The Vallarta Palace is gorgeous! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms with the tubs in them are big and ... pretty. I would definitely stay there again. The only thing to complain about was I thought the food could have been a little fancier for the price but the drinks made up for it ! The location is about an hour bus ride(2 buses) to the Old part of Vallarta which isn't that convienent so if you enjoy going into town stay somewhere closer.

Palace Resorts are the best

Vacation lover Oct 19, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

This was our first visit to Vallarta Palace, but we have stayed at Palace resorts before. When staying at a Palace resort, ... you know what exactly what to expect. Beautiful surroundings, pristine rooms, and world class service. We were not surprised that we got what we expected at the Vallarta Palace. Everything was perfect. Especially surprising to me, that was apparently due to the economy, the swine flu, and the Mexican drug wars, the hotel was nearly empty, and the service or staff was not reduced or compromised. I must commend the staff at the Vallarta Palace for being so friendly, attentive, and wonderful, as the staff is at all of the Palace Resorts we have been to. We made a night trip into Puerto Vallarta, approx. 25 min taxi ride ($160 Pesos) and loved it. The location overall is excellent. The beach is excellent. If you are looking to spend a lot of time near the city of Puerto Vallarta, you may want to consider staying somewhere closer. If you want to mostly relax, stay here.

When sitting by the pool, sit on the "activity" side, where the activity hut is, if you would like a little entertainment when sitting by the pool. The activity staff was very good at catering to the crowd, and would tailor the entertainment to the demographic of people by the pool. It was VERY entertaining at times.

Money savers hint

If you take a taxi from the airport to the Vallarta Palace, ask the price before you get in. I made the mistake of asking the price after I was in the cab, he charged me $25, should have been @ $12. I highly recommend that you exchange the dollar for pesos, if you plan on leaving the Vallarta Pallace. All of the street vendors accept dollars, their exchange rate is always in their favor.

Best Honey Moon ever

Carrie Sep 28, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We had a wonderful experience at Vallarta Palace. Anyone who says September is the off season is correct, as there were no ... people, but weather wise we were more than pleased. Thunder and lightening @ night never slowed us down--the Reort has nightly entertainment much like a cruise, we recommend the Cirque night--FANTASTIC. Vallarta Palace has wonderful service, beautiful rooms and atmosphere, and enchanting spa. Only 2 restaurants we liked were Mar Intimo and the Asian place. Breakfast was decent, but we Did NOT like the Titon Snack bar, or the Brazilian restaurant. The Mexican place we never really tried as we went off site to Victors Place which was AMAZING. All in all we would return to Vallarta Palace and we had a wonderful honeymoon!

Great Honeymoon

Honeymooner Sep 17, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We decided to stay at Vallarta Palace for our honeymoon after previously staying at another Palace resort for a friend's ... wedding. We went in the off season and the hotel was fairly empty. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The included tours were all great. We also took advantage of the bike tour that leaves in the morning and biked down to an area that has a small zoo. The food at the Italian and Asian restaurants were great, the other food was okay as well. The hotel is located about two blocks from a small mall which came in handy. Overall we had a great time touring and relaxing by the pool and ocean.

Honeymooner's Delight

Davemurf Sep 2, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The hotel was absolutely wonderful. The room was spacious and well-appointed, and the in-room jacuzzi was fantastic. More ... impressive than anything else, however, was the service. Universally, every waiter and waitress, bartender, and staffer was friendly, attentive, speedy, accommodating, and tried their best to make our honeymoon memorable and relaxing. They even put up with my butchered attempts at speaking Spanish! The only negative was that Puerto Vallarta in early August was a bit too warm for my taste, but a dip in the ocean and an icy cocktail took care of that. Just a tremendous stay at a beautiful resort.

A superior land cruise

Happy travelers ;) Jun 13, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

Mostly relaxed by the pool and on the beach. The hotel provided shaded straw umbrellas on the beach. The weather was hot, but ... there was a cool breeze. The hotel was impeccably kept and perhaps a little too hard contemporary, but we do like contemporary styling. The food was good, at times very good, but not great and the wine list was lacking, which keeps it from being a five star resort. The drinks are included and that's great for those that take advantage of that perk, but it can, and did contribute greatly to the noise and rowdiness at the hotel. And there is the real rub, since we wanted a quiet relaxing getaway. Also, the rooms are not soundproof in the least and the floors are marble, so one can hear the bar noise and the hallway noises. There were three weddings that weekend which occupied the staff at the restaurants, but the service was still excellent. The hotel was fun and actually is a nice destination wedding site. Annoying things to be aware of: Timeshare salespeople at the airport, around the hotel, and a softer sales pitch at the hotel. Also, there is a constant bombardment on the beach of jewelry, etc, and activity salespeople. That led to the a little trepidation on the beach particularly leaving our belongings alone while taking a walk. We enjoyed walking the beach, but I would suggest avoiding walking the neighborhood. All on all, it was an enjoyable time and we would recommend this resort for those that like the all-inclusive program (tips and alcohol included!) but prefer not to sail. It is priced pretty well although is more expensive than a standard cruise, but not a luxury cruise. However, most luxury cruises have better food and inclusive alcohol as well.

Relaxing for the whole family

Lisa Nov 25, 2008

Would recommend to a friend!

Our family of four (two teens) stayed at the Vallarta Palace over a long weekend. Hotel location is good, about $15.00 taxi ... to downtown Puerto Vallarta. This type of resort is very insulated from outside traffic, both vehicles and people, which we were looking for. The Asian restaurant was outstanding, both in service and food. The others were fine as well, but a longer stay might have found us going off property for a meal or two, just for some real Mexican food. Room service food was not up to the standards the rest of the property had spoiled us with - stale toast, cold and runny eggs, etc. Service was excellent, however. A double-double room for four was a little cramped, especially with older kids. Next time we will spring for another room (and bathroom)!

Great All Inclusive

The Vallarta Palace is a wonderful hotel. The room was amazing with a big king size bed and a a jacuzzi in our room. The ... shower was very big and a digital safe in our room. The All Inclusive was great. Anything you wanted they were right there, they were even more attentive if you tipped them some extra cash! The food was good, although the Italian restaurant was our favorite and the Brazilian was our least favorite. It is quite a haul to downtown Puerto Vallarta, but the beach is great and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

would come back here again.

The Vallarta Palace offered great value for the money. the rooms were comfortable and clean, your bar and fridge is always ... restocked, the only problem i had was upon checking in, our rooms were not ready because we got in early, but instead of being up front with me, the front desk kept on assuring me that my room was being cleaned when in fact it wasnt. we were with another couple and their room right next door was ready before ours. when we deposited all our luggage in their room for the time being, we noticed our room was still undone and no one was working on it. repeated phone calls to the front desk assured me that my room was getting cleaned. when the maid finally showed up 2 hrs later, she did an excellent job cleaning and preparing it. that was the only complaint i have. other than that, the food was good, the pool was great, the beach isnt cancun clear but ok. all in all, i would go back to this hotel again. the hotel staff was friendly too.

The resort was exceptionally clean with outstanding rooms and an unreal value for the money. Very friendly staff, great food ... - amazing actually for an all inclusive. This place really stands out in every aspect. The rooms, the facilities, the staff, not a single thing to complain about! Would recommend 100%

Perfect for family & business

The Vallarta Palace was far more superior in comparisson to a resort we stayed at last year that had the same star ranking! ... Check-in was a easy & pleasant, with champagne for adults and goodies for the kids. The hotel amenities, rooms (love the jacuzzi in every room), staff and the evening programs were excellent! My kids loved the kids club folks - they were so friendly, fun and caring! Restaurants were diverse, so lots of choices. The beach was not crowded, and lots of lounges to just sit, read a book and relax! We were there for 9-days, so quite a while to be away from work, but their WLAN connection in the room was excellent, I was able to squeeze in some work and uploaded our pics on the web in a breeze. A place we can go back to again!

The Vallarta Palace was top notch in every way. The hotel staff, especially the front desk, went out of their way to make our ... stay pleasurable. The food was great, our group especially liked the Oriental restuarant the the sushi. The minibar stocked every day was great, room was very clean and we had an awesome view of the ocean. Our stepson was married while we were there and the gazebo made a beautiful setting, at sunset, and the ceremony itself was lovely. The only negative thing I can say anything about for the entire trip was the way we were acosted in the airport.

Entertainment hint, In Hotel

When sitting by the pool, sit on the "activity" side, where the activity hut is, if you would like a little entertainment when sitting by the pool. The activity staff was very good at catering to the crowd, and would tailor the entertainment to the demographic of people by the pool. It was VERY entertaining at times.

Victors Place in the New Marina Area, Owner greets you, and when you order a drink every time you get a shot of tequila. Worth the hunt for it.

There is a shopping mall nearby. Unfortunately, there is very limited shopping in the resort itself.
