New Island, New Memories
Betty Oct 19, 2009
The ocean and beach were the most beautiful we have seen. We have been to Jamaica, Mexico and Dominican Republic. The ... resort was smaller, but it made it easier to get from point A to point B. The bar staff had their good days and bad- not always the friendliest. The water activities crew was always fabulous and upbeat. There needs to be more bars, or have more than one open at a time. For those that go, please note that you can get beer at the activities desk. There was no mention of this anywhere. We found it on our own. I would hate to see it if the resort was full to capacity. The wait for a beverage- even when tipping- was quite the wait. You either had to wait for more glasses to be cleaned or more alcohol to be brought up or more ice. The restaurants seem to cater to the late eater. Breakfast didn't start til 7:30am as well as lunch at 12:30pm. There were points in the day when there was no food at all. We walked to the Gap several times to purchase beers during happy hour and got them 2 for 1 to stock the unstocked refridgerators in the room. Overall, it was just great to get out on vacation. Please note that when you go, be patient and expect to wait for things. But who cares- you are on vacation right???

There was little to no entertainment at the resort in the evening. Walk to Oceans 11 or Red Rocks and enjoy Happy Hour and the local flare. It was entertaining.

Great time
traveling couple Sep 6, 2009
Had a very great time at Turtle beach hotel. No real complaints except for the computer room. Children at the hotel would ... occupy the computers for hours playing games, so the adults would have to wait to use the computers. The food at the hotel was great. They served some authentic bajan dishes throughout our stay. Enjoyed the night entertainment at the hotel but it ended kind of early (10 p.m.). Overall had a great time and would return again!

Lovely place

This is a great value. The hotel rooms are slightly dated, but very clean and comfortable. Having 3 meals and drinks ... included in ths price was wonderful. There was a lot to do at this hotel, and I'd say, something for everyone.

The best thing we did was rent a van. This allowed us to go all over the island at our own pace.

Peaceful Stay
Carmen Jun 30, 2009
This hotel is perfect if you are looking for a reasonably priced all-inclusive resort in Barbados. The food selection was ... limited, but good nonetheless. The resort itself is right on the beach and there are people there you can speak to about taking snorkling trips, renting jet skis, etc. If you are looking to go away and just relax, this is a perfect hotel. There isn't much else going on except the couple of hours of live entertainment some nights. If you feel like venturing outside the resort, there is a market and a few bars up the block.
Traveler type: Friends
When in Barbados in general remember to let merchants know if you are paying with American dollars, as opposed to Barbados dollars so you don't get ripped off. As far as Turtle Beach Resort- I have been to all inclusive Caribbean resorts before, but this was the only one where tipping doesn't get you anywhere, so save your money. They move at a glacial pace no matter what you do.

great family experience
Hambone Jun 22, 2009
Outstanding service, but shabby furnishings in two childrens rooms, but Deluxe suite was furnished nicely.Kids loved waves ... and ocean and water sports. loved catamaran trip. Food was good for an "all inclusive". Very convenient location for all activities. Family liked it best of our annual family trips.

Afternoon and sunset catamaran sail with snorkeling was family favorite. Would strongly recommend "Good Times" for this sail. (

Great Resort! You don't have leave the resort for anything unless you want to. Close to other restaurants, shops and ... nightclubs. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Hotel offers complimentary transportation (daily) to Bridgetown for shopping.
Traveler type: Family
make dinner reservations as early as possible if you want to eat before 9pm. I would make them all the next day after check-in.

Turtle Beach
Just Married Apr 22, 2009
Great hotel, room was always clean but the food very dissapointing...except breakfast. Turtle Beach has lot so activities ... to offer during the day but at night it was very low key and quiet. For some people that's fine but I personally prefer something with a little more motavating night time activities. This a great place for people with young children/teenagers.
Traveler type: Couples
Do the excursion with the snorkeling and seat turtles.
