Enjoyed our stay
QTPie Nov 4, 2009
We stayed at Tropicana & enjoyed it. We'd definitely stay there again. The $24 buffet for 24 hour period was great! It's ... not the biggest or most luxurious buffet out there but for the price we couldn't beat it. They had a variety of meats each day, such as turkey breast and prime rib at the carving station, build-your-own omelette station, fish, among many sides & delicious desserts. The pools were nice, though the larger pool was closed because of the time of year. Suited us fine, we just wanted to catch some sun anyway, and since the large pool was closed we pretty much had our choice of patio area.

The $24 buffet per person was for a 24 hour period. You can dine as often as you choose to within that time. The food was good and the champagne served with breakfast on weekends was a special added touch.

great location and price
Lindar Nov 1, 2009
This was my second visit to the Tropicana in 18 months. What a difference! Remodeling and looks great. Very reasonable ... rates and location is unbeatable for the price. Only thing I wish they provided was a coffee maker in the room. Location is great to visit New York, New York, Excaliber, Luxor, Monte Carlo, etc... Easy walking distance to everything in area. Rooms are fairly large, clean. Try to get a room facing the strip. It's a beautiful view in the morning and at night, especially with the mountains in the background. Was happy the first time I stayed and will definitely stay again.

The location was ok. It's a long walk anywhere. The room was not real clean. The staff was not very accomodating. The pool ... was closed even at 80 degree weather. The hotel was under construction, dusty, loud. I would not stay there again.

Great value for the money
occagirl09 Oct 27, 2009
Loved the hotel and our room location. The hotel was undergoing painting in the halls and elevator areas. No big deal, just ... a little inconvenient. The hallways and walls are what did not appear to be clean; hense the painting? We also found a dirty towel right under the edge of our bed. Also, the casino cocktail waitress did not seem to know if the Trop serves dark or amber beer. All the other casinos we visited had a great variety of beer. Overall, we had a great stay and were treated well. We would definitely stay here again.

Entertainment and the airport, for that matter, were conveniently located to this hotel. Also, the monorail station is right across the street at the MGM for times when we wanted to go a little farther. GREAT location.

WHAT A DUMP!!!!!!!!!
Mom Oct 26, 2009
I will never stay here again! The place was filthy and run down. When I booked the room, nowhere online did it say they hotel ... would be under construction. Nowhere did it say the pool would be out of service. Nowhere did it say that the rooms should have been redone 20 years ago. The place was a dump and the staff could care less. They told me "too bad"!! I asked to be compensated for the weekend and the assistant manager said "no way" "I could lose my job" and he got in my face and tried to intimidate me. What a jerk.....noone there at the hotel cares if you have a good stay or a bad stay....The pictures on the internet do not reflect the condition of the hotel....horrible, disappointing weekend!!!!! I want my money back!!!!! The beds were old and hard as a rock. Carpet was filthy and coming up everywhere. Paint was peeling off all the walls. The whole hotel should be knocked down.

Had been staying at this hotel for several times, during the week for work. This time, we were put in the tower, YUCK! The ... room was way smaller. The show tickets offered with my reservation were the Hypnosis Show, but was given the Magic Show again. The Tower room didn't have a couch like the Standard rooms we had reserved before.

We had a great stay. The people were very friendly and helpfull. The rooms were clean and very spacious. Comfortable beds and ... atmosphere. The food in the hotel was great we didnt have to go anywhere else to eat. The hotel is in a great location. The hotel is in the middle of the stip and was close to the other hotels. They had a veriarty of slots and card tables which made it hard to choose what to play. All in all it was one of my best trips to Las Vegas and I hope to revisit here in the next year.
