Great location and price in Dublin City

This hotel is great if you have any business or function to attend at Trinity College. You will be walking distance from ... everything in city center, Temple Bar or the college. The bar and restaurant are very inviting. This was the best deal I have encountered in my 5 stays in Dublin in the past 4 years.

Hotel was nice, updated. Our bed was really comfortable. Only compliant was that the rooms were hot and so we had the ... window open and the place is next to a firehouse which was doing drills all day (we needed to sleep after a long flight). The location is great, 3 blocks to Trinity Bar district.

Take a daytrip to Enniskerry and the Powerscourt Estate/Waterfall. The bus ride is 1.5 hours, but you can get there for 2 Euros!

OMG--You have GOT to go on the Rural Pub Tour. It takes you out of Dublin to charming little pubs. We traveled in a van so the number of people were about 15 max. You cannot get information on this from the Tourist Information Centers so you must look for it on line.

Super-cool hotel
lad Nov 1, 2009
Super-quirky hotel, beautiful mixture of classical and kitsch. Great location right in the heart of Trinity College, ... convenient to everything. Only complaint is that the airport shuttle (Paddywagon) was not running, even though it was advertised. We waited around for it only to be told we couldn't board. Thought we should have gotten some compensation from the hotel for that, but at least the airport bus was only 7 Euro. We'll definitely stay there again.

Trinity Capital Dublin
Lisa from Chicago Oct 27, 2009
This hotel is well located and depending on the rate you get, can be reasonable. But the rooms have a lot of wear and tear ... and so do the bathrooms. There is no wireless internet or airport shuttle, despite the fact that thier advertising claims there is. And our TV shut itself off about every 15 minutes.

Girls Gone Wild
Jeanne Oct 26, 2009
This hotel was very clean and comfortable. The room was small but who the heck is spending any time there. However, there ... are no dressers and a very very small closet so we ended up living out of the suitcase. But that is the worse thing I can say about it. It is pretty inside with many different places to hang out and have a beverage or work on your computer. The location was perfect. Also, we arrived at the airport at about 7 a.m. I was so afraid they would not let us check in. But they did-how cool was that!?

Great location
Janet Dublin-lover Oct 25, 2009
This hotel was in an ideal location to all the hot spots in Dublin. Grafton St., Temple Bar, Trinity College, St. Steven's ... Green, and the River Liffey were all a 5-10 min. walk. There's no need to rent a car as the bus and taxi services are readily available. The hotel restaurant is very expensive, but so many choices elsewhere. Breakfast at Bewley's on Grafton was fantastic. We were counting on the advertised free shuttle from airport, but were told by the shuttle driver that Trinity Capital no longer participates. Had to take a cab at 24 euro each way. Also, the hotel's guest computer was out of order the entire time we stayed. I was pleasantly surprised to be checked in at 9 a.m. after a long flight. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel for comfort, privacy, service and value.
Traveler type: Family
Do the 24 hr. hop on/ hop off tour bus deal to get around town. It stops at all major interest spots in Dublin and is cheaper than a cab ride to just one of them. (like Guinness Factory). The live tourist information is interesting and entertaining.

Great Location & Perks
IrelandTraveler09 Oct 1, 2009
This hotel is central to key areas of Dublin...easy walk to Grafton Street or Temple Bar. Tourist Office where many tours ... meet is a 5 minute walk. More important is the free internet in the Cafe and lobby and free airport shuttle to the airport. These perks are worth about 100 - 150 euros for a typical three day stay at other hotels without airport shuttle service. It's a tad noisy on the street side of the hotel ..I was on the third floor facing the street..so you could request a room on a higher floor or in the building itself as a shield against the early morning traffic. But...the noisy street is not enough to offset the pluses of this hotel. I will stay again when in Dublin.
Traveler type: Single
Take the Dublin Bus Tour on day one of your stay ...the one that lets you get on and off at your leisure...it's a good way to get to key areas/sites of the city at your own pace...and get acclimated to the city. Short walk from hotel to Dublin Tourist Office.

Fantastic place to stay in Dublin!
Adriana Sep 22, 2009
We decided to stay at the Trinity Capital Hotel for our first trip to Dublin after extensive research, and could not be ... happier with how it all worked out! We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Ireland. Our favorite things? The location, the clean rooms, the unique decor, and the FREE shuttle to and from the airport. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the beds were comfortable, and the location was fabulous. 5 minute walk to Trinity College (it was directly across from the hotel), museums, and the river, 10 minutes to Grafton St and Temple Bar, 20 to the Guinness Storehouse. The one thing to note about the free shuttle to and from the airport: When you arrive at the Dublin airport, you have to exit the airport, then cross the street and walk through the "car park" area - there's a grocery store and some cafes - to the bus area. You pick up the free shuttle from the bus area, but it's not where the city buses come in. We actually missed the shuttle when we arrived since we didn't know where to wait. It was about 20 Euro for the taxi ride to the hotel, but it was worth it since the shuttle only comes every 2 hours and we didn't want to waste more time at the airport. Our room wasn't ready when we first arrived (early flight), but they were more than happy to store our bags for the couple hours we had to wait. Being exhausted, we returned a little earlier than they'd told us, but the room was ready and waiting. We didn't eat at the hotel, but everything looked delicious. They even had "bacon fries" in the vending machine! We loved the decorations, and the fire station next door, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It Was Okay
Virginia Traveler Sep 13, 2009
I loved the interior design; very whimsical and fanciful. The staff was not particularly friendly or welcoming. Our room ... was on the quiet side where the fire department is located. They must have been conducting practice drills because the noise was very loud and annoying in the late afternoon/early evening when we were trying to nap after our long flight from the US . The staff person assured me that it would quiet down and it did finally. Apparently, it is quieter on this side rather than the on the front/traffic side of the hotel. The room is very small but the beds are so comfortable! The towels are limited and worn and the bathroom tile work was in need of repair. Overall, I would recommend the hotel but with great reservations and warnings.

Comfortable hotel in the heart of Dublin
Kay Aug 31, 2009
Although the building is very plain outside, the indoors of this hotel is beautifully decorated, like with the tall ... throne-like chairs in the lobby. The rooms are very comfortable, too. Across the street is Trinity College, where we saw the amazing exhibit of the Book of Kells. We walked to all the other sights in the city. We never needed to take a bus. I definitely recommend this hotel. The only negative was no A/C or heating controls.

In great location. Service, however, nothing outstanding. Very poor restaurant recommendations. OK place if you don't ... expect anything fancy and just want location near Temple Bar and Trinity College. Rooms clean, though spartan.
