Hotel was very clean with a nice pool. Staff was OUTSTANDING! The only problem was the hotel was on the other side of town ... where all the action is mainly Front St & Duval. Had to take an expensive cab ride everytime we left the hotel as walking in the Key West heat was out of the question. Probably would not stay there again and pay more for a hotel that is within walking distence from Mallory Square. Winds up that you pay more for the cheaper hotel when you include the cab fare.

Suites are sweet
Florida Mom Jul 23, 2009
Our suite was like an apartment. Everything was there-washer/dryer/stove/refrigerator/dishwasher so you didn't have to go out ... for all meals or come back with a load of dirty laundry.Key West restaurants are pretty expensive and it's hot in July! There was plenty of room for up to six people. It was very quiet and a great view of the Gulf on our spacious balcony.Teenagers will love the private upstairs loft which is bigger than a typical hotel room. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Liked the covered parking although it was a little tight. The pool area was very clean and secluded, the deck furniture was well maintained. The hotel was not within walking distance to Duval Street but this was what we wanted. it was less than 10 minutes into town. Would have liked a fitness center in the hotel and a nearby restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Free breakfast was just okay, I've had much better at comparably priced hotel chains. The only complaints I had with respect to the suite itself was terribly low water pressure in the showers and the one cup at a time coffee pot. All in all it was a great suite, with almost everything we needed.

Hotel room was small but nice. The room had a 3 ft by 5ft closet which was very unusual for a hotel. Hotel has parking ... garage below the rooms which keeps vehicles out of the hot Florida sun with an elevator making it easy to pack and unpack your luggage. Breakfast bar was average.

We thought the room was very adequate for us. the beds were very comfortable even the sofa sleeper. It was very nice to ... have a washer and dryer in the room as well. The view from the third floor was beautiful and the balcony size was great. We really enjoyed our stay at travelodge. It was far enough away, to relax in the room and enjoy the view but close enough to downtown for fun.

worked well for us
Karen Jul 23, 2007
there were four of us and the space was very adequate a one room suite with a king bed and a pull out couch the bed was very ... comfy but the pull out slept like a pull out. There was plenty of room to move around and the kitchen was great not just a small walk thru but a sizable kitchen with washer and dryer very handywith plenty room for a table and chairs. The bath area worked well for us the bath and toilet was seperate from the rest so as we girls were primping some one else could shower and do their thing privately. we had 2 tv one in bdrm and in living room so if anyone needed to relax and watch tv from the bed no problem.Plenty closet space and a safe was provided in the room . all in all we were happy for the rate and conveince

The Travelodge was home away from home. Spacious, kitchen was set for all needs if you wish to cook in the suite..Staff were ... friendly and wanted to help all they could...Loved the balconies overlooking pool and Gulf....Unfortunately, no beach...Missed that very much but view was still lovely...Taxi service was also excellent if you don't wish to drive in all the heavy traffic and parking is very difficult..Not too far from Duval but far enough to enjoy the quiet time away from all the activities. Hotel did not have a restaurant, but many were very close. Hotel supplied coffee and juices all day, and in the a.m. continental breakfast , which was very nice..Check in staff were always so helpful in getting you around town with brochures and recommendations...Underground parking was available. We could not use it because our conversion van was too high for the clearance allowed. All in all, it was a great experience and we would definitely use Travelodge again...

Gloria Jun 10, 2007
The standard room had no view of the water whatsoever, to get the veiw we had to pay a $90.00 upgrade fee.I was pretty upset ... over that but the room was larger and we had a great veiw from the balcony. The pool was directly beneath us and the main highway was about 50 ft from the hotel so it never did quiet down any.I went out on the balcony at 3am looking for quiet and hoping to hear the waves from across the street but it was all nite pool party's and horns blowing on the roadway. The furniture was very worn and scratched up, under the bathroom sink they had a leak and the fiber board was flaking and split, definately not what we paid for.The room was laid out really well and there was plenty of closet space. There were no restaruants near but there was an Albertsons and a Publix so there was starvation danger. After paying to upgrade the room it was a nice anniversary night.

This was one of the smoothest transactions for checking in. The hotel was very quiet and clean. We really enjoyed our time ... here and the pool and hot tub were very relaxing. Not very many people around and felt like we had the place to ourselves. The continental breakfast was always very fresh and the area always clean. We would definitly stay here again if we come to Key West.
