Stayed here while visiting Lake Powell - front desk not too friendly at first but later did arrange boat tour - room clean ... and good location near the dam. Tour group also there so didn't get much chance at the breakfast.

Go over to the nearby John W. Powell Museum for maps and info. Take a nice little hike along the lake rim - park by the high school north of town. If you feel very brave and have a high-clearance vehicle, drive on the road east out of the "town" Big Water, north of Wahweap, and up the long, steep switchbacks of the Smoky Mtn. road for views. Don't go further than the top without current road info!

Go over to the nearby John W. Powell Museum for maps and info. Take a nice little hike along the lake rim - park by the high school north of town. If you feel very brave and have a high-clearance vehicle, drive on the road east out of the "town" Big Water, north of Wahweap, and up the long, steep switchbacks of the Smoky Mtn. road for views. Don't go further than the top without current road info!

We visited the slot canyons on the Navajo reservation only 1 1/2 hours after we arrived, thanks to the front desk making ... reservations for us upon check-in. We didn't have to roam around town looking for help because the company came to the hotel to pick us up. And the tour was fantastic!

The Travelodge, Page, AZ was a good hotel, the room was big and the free breakfast was very good. Lots of choices. The only ... problem I had was the room smell. When we walked in it smelled like a urinal! Really nasty! It would have been a wonderful stay except for that. Also, the mattress was not the most comfortable thing as we kept waking up during the night because it was so hard. However, there are some great Restaurants within walking distance. I would stay there again, as it was a good value for the money.

The Travelodge, was prompt and helpful even with our mix-up and need to cancel one of our nights. It was easy to find and ... near all of the places we wished to visit. The room was very comfortable and the price was reasonable.

Besides the very popular Powell Lake, this is the spot for the Antelope Canyon. This attraction makes the trip and cost worthwhile, especially to photographers. It is really awesome. The best colors are late morning and noontime.
