Newport/Cincinnati travel lodge hotal
mommaoz Oct 10, 2009
There wasn't alot to do unless you were going to Cincinnati or just staying in Newport for the nite. The stay would have been ... more enjoyable if we didn't have to search for places to eat.The resturants close by were geared toward adults, rather than family. The hotel had a moldy smell due to the windows at the top were not even and did not close all the way. There were spiders behind the curtains on the windows. If you wanted to eat the continetal breakfest, you had to get up early because it ended an hour and a half before check out.

The hotal sits on same area as to most of what Newports offers for entertainment.Fast food resturants had to drive a distance to get to.Not advertised very well.

This hotel was not clean, and smelled funky, we even brought in our own blankets and pillows from the car. Would not stay ... here again ever. Looked at the continental breakfast and did not feel comfortable eating there either.

Great location and great price
Angela deal shopper Aug 4, 2009
We had company in from out of town and wanted to experience the Newport night life with out the long drive home. We booked a ... room the same day on Orbitz with a late check in. This hotel location doesn't get any better for an overnight in Newport. It's within walking distance to Hofbrauhaus, Arnie's, Southgate House, Newport Aquarium, and all shops & restaurants at the Mall. Great deal for the price!

Nice and convenient

Very happy with this hotel. It's a 5-minute walk from the Newport Mall, walking bridge, and the river. Seemed safe enough too ... and had a helpful staff. VERY pleased with the rate we got and can't complain a bit. The area seemed safe as well. Room was clean. I ranked it a 4 for the value.

Reds Game
addie Jul 20, 2009
This is a low budget hotel and was just about what I expected it to be. Not new, not fancy - the lone elevator had been ... roughed up quit a bit. The best part is the location - could walk to the Reds game and to the Newport levee activities. Staff was fine. The continental breakfast was nothing to write home about but I ate a bowl of cereal anyway.

We were on our way to Knoxville to take my God Daughter back home. We wanted to do some things with her before we took her ... home. I was a little leary of the Hotel when I booked it from some of the reviews. But figured for one night and the price was too good to pass up. My daughter and God daughter and I were pleasently surprised. Both ladies one in evening and one in morning were friendly and helpfull. The whole room was clean and smelled good. We did not stay in room much as we went to the museum and took a boat ride and went to the Levee So we just slept and got up in am and showerer and got on the road. We did enjoy the coffee and bagels. Over all we had an excellant time and will definately be back when we come back to Newport.

We all enjoyed the sightseeing boat trip and walking down by the river. We wished we had had more time. Next time we will plan on staying longer.

Good Location, Minimalist, Good Price
Overnight Tourist Jun 19, 2009
The rooms were minimalist in their amenities, but with the amount of attractions within walking distance (I literally walked ... across the bridge and was at the Baseball Stadium) the only thing you need the room for is crashing after an event filled day/night. The only thing is the outlet by the bed didn't work right so the alarm clock didn't work.

The travelodge Riverfront was a horrible expierence. The rooms were disqusting and not clean at all. The location was not ... that great considering we watched a car get stolen out of the hotel parking lot. Also, our keys did not work so we had to go back to the hotel desk to get the clerk. This place was horrible. We actually didnt even stay the night because it was soooo bad, we left and paid for another hotel... THIS PLACE IS NOT EVEN WORTH THE DOLLARS I SPENT...

William Jul 22, 2007
Most of the King rooms facing Cincinnati had balconies off the room with sliding doors. We were given one of the few ... that did not have a balcony. When we arrived for check-in, the desk clerk told us he would be right with me, then went into a room behind the desk, where I could here him talking to someone on the phone. The phone conversation appeared to be a personal one. He did not return to the desk for about 10-12 min- utes. The location was great, and the room was rela- tively clean. The trip overall was a good one. My wife and I went to visit the Newport Aquarium and we had a nice lunch cruise on a riverboat the next day prior to heading home.

Disappointment
Sherry May 22, 2007
I was very disappointed. The property was run down, the ceiling in the bathroom was caving in. The doors did not shut tight ... and the walls were dirty.
