was only ok

Orbitz was not cheaper than if you called the htoel directly. This was an ok place. It was clean and staff was nice but what ... we paid for wasnt worth it. We paid almost $200 a night for a two bedroom but the next day we went to the Tilghmans Resort and a three bedroom was only $140.00 and was much nicer and more spacious and oceanfront.

If you are going to party and drink and have to drive a limo service is the best way to go. Much cheaper than a taxi.

Beautiful!
Beach Lovers Aug 15, 2009
I loved the updated amenities in our hotel room and the oceanfront view from our private patio was breathtaking. The staff ... was a little unfriendly and always seemed rushed but we always got what we needed. The room was beautiful except for the plastic on the bed which was a bit uncomfortable. The parking was extremely tight and my car got dinged by someone. With no cameras or mirrors, the parking is very dangerous!

Great price and great hotel.
Robert Great Time Jul 16, 2009
We are use to beach front but for the price we paid, the ocean blvd was okay. We enjoyed that the end of the beach wasn't ... that crowd and it was very quiet. They have great pools and hot tubs. We wasn't that familar with North Myrtle so we didn't know what type of restaurants they had in the area.

"Not what we expected"
running girl Jul 10, 2009
Towers on the Grove was not what we expected. We stayed in an efficiency suite(didn't even have a sitting area)that ... overlooked the blvd, so it was extremely noisy. The sleeping area was extremely small and the mattress was uncomfortable. The kitchenette was nice and functional and having a washer and dryer was great. The pool was very small and crowded and was closed one full day for repairs. It did have a small waterpark/waterslide play area that was nice for smaller children. The fitness Center was on the 20th floor and had a couple of treadmills, an exercise bike, eliptical, and small weight system. While jogging on the treadmill at 6.5mph it completely shut off after 1.5 mile. So I tried the other one and it did the same thing. Not Safe!! We usually stay in a condo or rental house which we find much more suitable for us. If you stay at this hotel upgrade to oceanfront and get a larger suite.

Very Nice
Sunburnt Mar 10, 2009
I booked this hotel because I wanted something between Little River (where the friend I was visiting is) and Myrtle Beach. ... There were no reviews online so I was a little nervous but when we got there, we knew it would be ok. The buildings facade is an art deco style that was aesthetically pleasing. The lobby is on the third floor which seemed slightly odd but [...] at the front desk was very polite and helpful. The room was very nice for the price and had much more than expected. The bedroom is the first room you enter and had two double beds (the beds were on the medium to firm side but not uncomfortable), the next area is where the bathroom (nice size with whirlpool bath and decent water pressure) and kitchen are located (full size fridge, gas range and oven, microwave, coffee maker, blender, pots and pans, and utensils), lastly is the living area with a table and chairs, leather sofa, leather chair, coffee table and flat screen tv. There was also a murphy bed and a small washer/dryer behind a door which was an unexpected surprise. Each area has a door so it's easy to isolate an area for privacy or to keep noise down. The ocean view from the private balcony was excellent! The Hotel was only open 4 months when I stayed so everything was in very good shape. We were impressed with the condition of everything in the room but realized that we may have been the first to stay there due to the fact neither of the remotes for the TV's had batteries in them. The location was good for us due to the proximity to Little River but Myrtle Beach proper was a little bit of a drive. Within walking distance is a grocery store and bar, which was nice, and restaurants and attractions (Barefoot Landing, etc,) were a short drive away but not what I would consider close by but that was not a problem for us. I looked at a map of the area before booking so I wasn't disappointed at all.The pool area was closed being the off season but seemed geared more toward kids, who I would imagine will love it. There is a water slide, two water cannons, an overhang that water cascades off, a winding river type swim area that you see in the pictures and a seperate whirlpool. Nothing you could do laps in or dive into here but I didn't expect that. There is a fitness center on the top floor with barbells, medicine balls, bikes, treadmills and a Nautilus type machine. We were not told about this and found it by accident but it is there, so if you feel like working out it'll fit the bill.Parking is located directly across the street in their own parking garage but they have an area under the building which you can pull into to load and unload your car so you don't have to lug your bags around which was nice.We enjoyed our visit so much we stayed an extra night. I will be back to the Towers and would recommend it to a friend.
