Nice location for a conference. Lobby has amazing view, but was a bit dirty (then again it is New Orleans!). Unless you need ... it, avoid the handicapped room or the shower will flood the entire entryway.

Visit casino and French Quarter. Good breakfeast buffet. Great value for the $79 room rate. Will stay there again. The room ... was nice but sparcly furnished. No table and chairs for room service. No chair in bathroom at vanity area. The view of the river and French Quarter was great. Parking was convenient. Had to go to front desk to get key to mini bar.

I've traveled to the French Quarter several times and had always wanted to stay at the Westin. However, the rooms were ... usually out of my price range. I took a chance for a special occasion and booked a room. Everything was positive. The view of the river and the Quarter was spectacular. I will definitely treat myself to staying here again.

Check out Deanie's or Acme house on Iberville street if you enjoy great fresh seafood. Also Southern Candymakers has the best pralines and milk or dark chocolate candy I've ever had in my life!!

If u are planning to go to New orleans for mardi gras or just for being a tourist this is an excellent hotel as it is right ... downtown in the middle of everything! I went for mardi gras and walked out of my hotel right into a party. I would have really liked it alot more if there was a microwave and a fridge in my room because everytime we got hungry or thirsty we had to leave the room and go to a restaurant, and taking carry out was pointless because you could not heat it up later. The room they gave us really didn't have a great view either but all and all I had an awesome vacation.

The Westin Canal Place is close to the river walk and the french quarters. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The ... room elevators were only accesible with a room key which made us feel more secure in New Orleans.

Parking Problems

The hotel was wonderful in all asects, especially location. It was close enough to the French Quarter, The Riverview shops, ... Canal Street, and other great spots. The only downside was the parking. The hotel does not own the parking lot so it was quite expensive if you want to use your car each day. Too bad the hotel does not own the parking lot. Too bad the parking lot does not want to work up a better deal with the hotel.
