It was a good hotel, but very much over-rated. The arms on the over-stuffed chair were worn through to the stuffing. No ... coffee maker. (For $130 per night, there should be a coffee-maker.) Location was good and the casino was nice. Service was adequate. The hotel description did not mention a "resort fee", but they charged me $10 plus tax anyway. I had stayed previously at the Grand Sierra (not the Summit, which is supposed to be nicer) and was more impressed with the regular hotel than the Summit.

I enjoyed my stay at the summit, I especially liked the clean, spacious, and luxurious room we stayed at. I wish there were ... more elevators or aleast faster. The line to get in an elevator was realy long and it would take about 30-45 minutes to get an elevator. Overall the best time, very clean, and comfortable. I am booking this hotel again. can't wait!

First of all the valet feature of the resort was really nice. Check-in did not take long at all. When we got to our room we ... knew right them and there that our trip was going to be outstanding. Not only was the room gorgeous, every aspect of the room was extremely comfortable. We felt as if we never left home. The bathroom exuded an aura as if we were in a spa. Service was elite. There is so much to do here as well. They have a cinema that shows movies that recently the mainstream theater and they show them for only $3.00. They have a huge arcade, go carts, mini golf, an ice cream parlor, a candy store and every type of food imaginable. We weren't even able to do everything we wanted to. We went bowling and ate within the hotel and I was able to gamble. One of the things I hate about Reno in general is that I always have to worry about second hand smoke, in most parts of the casino area there wasn't a trace of cigarettes and that was such a relief. There was also a little cafe that was open 24hrs and it was very affordable and sold numerous items, definately conveinent. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Rude Check in Staff and Dingy Hallways
Dr. MJ Aug 7, 2009
This hotel and Orbitz don't have their promotions in sync; what you really get from promotions is often different then what ... is advertised; the hotel front desk manager said "We are not responsible for third party marketing offers>" The rooms are nice, but the hallways are dark and dingy. The front desk staff were rude; if you are not a heavy gambler, dont' expect good service; casinos treat big loosers well and us regular non gambling customers as revenue sources; they don't care much about us as customers.

Great Hotel
Sun loving gambler May 22, 2009
I love this hotel. We stayed at the summit rooms and although they are a little dark (poor lighting, black walls) they are ... beautiful. The whole hotel is nice. The gaming floor is small compared to some of the other hotels but there is so much other stuff to do at this place...bowling, mini golf, driving range, movies. I love the Mustangs bar and was happy to see Clearwater Blue playing there. The only bad part was although the weather was 90 degree I was told the pool didn't open till the following weekend. And the food selection at the hotel is either really expensive or not very good. There is no decent inbetween place.

The Summit was GREAT!
WOLF May 8, 2009
We stayed at the Summit in a suite for 1/2 price because of the deal on orbitz. The room was very nice. Newly done in dark ... colors which was nice compared to the old bright RED colors the the GSR normal rooms. they are not very nice. old and worn out. still the colors of the reno hilton. we were here for our bowling league so it's nice to walk up stairs after bowling and a few drinks. Otherwise the location is too far from all the other casinos. I'd prefer to stay downtown if going to gamlbe so that you have more options on where to play. But if you have to stay at GSR stay in a Summit room. All in all, not a bad place to stay. casino has all the normal games. Staff was fine. food was ok.
