One of Bermuda's finest resort properties, The Reefs has been welcoming guests since 1947 with the traditional hospitality for which the island has long been famous. Crowning a cliff, overlooking its own private pink sand beach - and the turquoise waters that surround Bermuda - The Reefs is in the Southampton parish on the South Shore of the island. Lush tropical flowers - hibiscus, oleander and bougainvillea - cascade down the salmon pink-and-white property. An intimate resort with only 65 guest rooms and suites, the resort boasts an infinity pool and an award-winning spa.

La Serena specializes in Thai massage. Beyond massage, La Serena offers a full menu of luxury spa services ranging from reflexology to facials. Pedicures and manicures use paraffin wax and Gehwol, a company known internationally for its herbal products. Pamper yourself with our 2 hour 'Aromaceance Bodywrap' as your body melts into relaxation and your mind drifts gently. A CACI, a non-surgical "face lift", is also offered on our extensive menu.

The relaxing atmosphere is one of the resort's most notable features, and its dedicated staff is a reason to return every year. Famous for its cuisine, The Reefs' attracts visitors and Bermudians alike, to dine at the island's only small resort with three dining venues during the season - couples can also opt for a romantic dinner served on the beach. The Reefs consistently has been voted one of the "Best Hotels in the Caribbean, Bahamas and Bermuda" and ranked # 1 "World's Best Hotel Value" for three consecutive years by the readers of Travel + Leisure and has been on Conde Nast Traveler's Gold List of the "World's Best Places to Stay" since 1997. We're especially proud of tradition of service excellence and being recognized as the #3 hotel in the entire Caribbean, Bahamas and Bermuda region in the 2005 Travel + Leisure World's Best Service" reader's poll. The Hotel provides Bar, Concierge, Doctor on call, Gift shop, Gym/Fitness facilities, Intyernet access - High speed, Internet access - Wireless, Laundry service, Lobby, Non-smoking rooms, Plunge pool, Reception, Restaurant, Room service, Safe deposit box, Spa services, Pool and Tennis court.

5-star beach and view; 3-star rooms

Would recommend to a friend!

Stay here for the beautiful views overlooking the ocean, the dramatic infinity-edge pool, and the soft pink-sand beaches. ... There's no need to leave this oasis - you can snorkel right from the beach and see tons of fish in the coral reef or take a kayakk out for a ride. The food (included) is also outstanding (see below). My main caution is don't stay here if you are looking for luxurious rooms or service (which for the price, you might anticipate). The rooms are more what you'd expect at a Holiday Inn - lumpy beds, rusted bathroom fixtures, no central A/C, dated furniture - but with a stunning balcony overlooking the ocean. Our first room (a Superior) was so filthy and noisy we changed the next morning. Our next room was quieter and had a spectacular view, but we had to fight off ants. Service is mediocre - the front desk was always busy or unstaffed, but eventually they would help with whatever you wanted.

Dining hint, In Hotel

Both restaurants we dined at (Coconuts and Ocean Echo) had excellent food (especially the lamb, steak, and Bermuda fish chowder) and magnificent views. Be sure to dine on the beach at Coconuts for an incredibly romantic date and request a table on the terrace at Ocean's Echo. The main disappointment was the very slow and inconsistent service - the food would often sit around in the kitchen and come out cold.
