Staying in THE safest hotel in Boston
Theo80126 Oct 23, 2009
With Concrete walls (no, really, they were made out of poured CEMENT) I felt safe that if any stray bullets came in our ... direction, or if the "big one" was dropped over Beantown we would be safe. Actually, it was a room; a place to sleep (on two separate beds, however. We were lucky to find a place under a thousand a night, on short notice during the Head of the Charles Regatta. And it was very convenient to the Back Bay, the Pru Center, South End even freak town across the street (take the tour, but pass on the Kool-Aid;) ). And, there was plenty of parking downstairs for only $18 a day. It does need updating; lots and lots of updating, but had a very friendly staff. And you can't put a price on that safety thing, either. We enjoyed our stay.

The location was excellent few blocks from fenway park and the oldest fire dept in boston which was a recommended must see. ... The people were friendly at the hotel but when we were walking down the hallway and got to our room there were spots and an unpleasent odor which was hard to get used to! The pool was outdoor so it was closed which was a bummer!

The girl at the reception for the check in was very unfriendly, I could even say she was bad. While the man at the check out ... the following day was very kind and friendly. But the main trouble was the noise, we couldn't slip because of the people on the floor up (children running and jumping all the night long) and in the adjiacent room (they took a shower in the middle of thye night). The hotel looks very old, with very old furnitures. Positive features: 1) the room was very big; 2) the location is very good

Great hotel at a great price!
Tom Tom Yakmok Aug 11, 2009
I went here to play in a Magic: The Gathering Grand Prix tournament. The location was amazing, right next to the Prudential ... Center. If you have an event at the Prudential Center and want a good hotel stay here. It is not fancy, and there is no fridge, which I did not like. However, despite being sort of regular, the price was great. If you can find a fancier hotel at the same price. You should take it, but you probably won't find on cheaper with as good of a location. I did not try the room service. I would say this a great hotel for anyone who is not rich. Haha!

You should try the Pour House. Best breakfast I have ever had in the US. It was astoundingly good, and cheap, and the girls are very cute (some of them). The burgers for dinner are half price and Saturdays and cheap anyways. Just AMAZING food! It is just outside of the Hynes Convention Center on Boylston st. Enjoy!

Nice affordable hotel in great location
The Prof Aug 9, 2009
The staff was very courteous. The rooms were very reasonably priced, especially if booked online. The hotel is located in a ... wonderful area, very near convention and tourism destinations. The rooms were not posh, but they were clean and in good repair. The only problem I had was with the WiFi for the hotel (which costs $10/day) had such a poor signal that I was barely able to use it.
Traveler type: Business
Prudential center and the Copley Square areas offer great shopping and dining options. They're within a few blocks of the hotel. Also, the Christian Science Center is across the street. It has free tours of the church and a very large reflection pool.

The Midtown appeared to have been painted and "cleaned up" since we stayed there two years ago. We found the staff to be ... friendly and helpful. The check-in and check-out process was efficient. The motel is almost across the street from the Prudential Center and near the T so it is easily accessible. I would recommend it to people looking for a clean, basic place to stay in Boston.

We wanted a reasonably priced place so we could spend our money on food, drink, and sites so it fit our budget. It was noisy ... at night as someone above us sounded like he was bouncing a ball. We called and complained after about 45 minutes and it finally stopped an hour later. An extra expense was paying for an internet connection, $9.95 for 24 hours. Isn't this usually free everywhere these days? Couldn't beat the parking though; right outside the door. Room was clean but hated the bedclothes. Those tacky polyester bedspreads feel awful and who knows how often they're laundered (if ever!).

Tip for tourists: If you are going to the observation deck at the Prudential Center, go to the restaurant instead. It is located two floors above.
