WONDERFUL!

KMH Sep 28, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

I wish we could have stayed more than two days! Our room was like a small studio apartment with a small kitchen (stocked ... with all your basic cooking needs), a wood burning fire place, a balcony, and a queen size Murphy bed. The bed was very comfortable, I had some worries because of another review I saw (driver told us the mattress were all less than a year old). The Murphy bed was great because folded up in the wall, we had lots of space in the room. It was very quiet despite the entire resort being completely booked. Oktoberfest was going on and it was nice. I guess the only thing that could have been better is they should up grade their TV's to LCD and larger sizes. However we watched very little TV, it was so beautiful and there was so much to do. I am not an "outdoors" type person and I had a great time. We would gladly go back!

Major Disappointment

Laurie Sep 14, 2008

We have stayed at all of the Snowbird Resort facilities before and this was by FAR the worst experience we have had. I am ... normally so excited to spend a weekend there and I was extremely disappointed in my stay. 1 - The door to our room would not open and then would not close. Maintenance came and fixed it when they refused to transfer us to another room. 2 - Our view from the balcony was of the underside of the walkway from the parking lot to the lobby. It was littered with construction materials and when we complained we were told that there's no construction on the weekend. NOT THE POINT! 3 - We had friends come up and meet us to watch a football game at the Tram Club - DO NOT GO THERE!!! We were first informed that they would not honor the free club membership we received with our room because they are privately owned. So, we had to pay to get in and then were left to wait a ridiculous amount of time for our RUDE waitress to come. When she finally did, it was a lot of eye-rolling and sighing as she took our order and then it took over 15 minutes just to get our drinks. We finally walked to the bar to order food and I have honestly NEVER had such cheap, disgusting food at a resort in my life! It was TERRIBLE!!! The service and the product were both about a 1 on a scale of 1-10. 4 - Since we didn't eat our food at the Tram Club, we went to the mexican restaurant on-site. We wanted to sit in the bar but were informed that we couldn't eat in there. So, on the restaurant side we were subjected to a variety of ridiculous rules about having a drink. My husband ordered a shot and a beer and the waitress would not let him have one until the other was gone. When he ordered another shot, she picked up his half drunk beer and held it so the two were not on the table simultaneously. She informed us that this is Utah law. NOT TRUE!!! We are from Utah and follow the law changes closely. The staff needs to be a) more friendly, and b) more knowledgeable about the drinking laws, weird as they are. I have been to this resort at least 10 times before and have never been more disappointed. Because this was meant to be a surprise weekend for my new husband and I, I could not have been more upset about this. Fortunately, he is a good sport. Next year, I'll make other plans!
