Clean, but a little far of a walk [...]
Mike Oct 26, 2009
It was a little bit of a walk to the Falls. Was not too much to do in the direct area of the Hotel, but the staff was nice ... and the room was clean.
Traveler type: Couples
The walk was a little far but there were quite a few $2 and $5 parking lots closer to Clifton Street as well as the falls. The Parking near the falls were anywhere between $15-$20

There are a lot of East Indian people in Niagara Falls, so the Indian restaurants are great. I ate at The Guru and it was awesome.

Very friendly and cooperative staff, quiet, clean large rooms, conviently located. Continential breakfast left a lot to be ... desired, a piece of fruit would have been nice. Overall a nice stay for the price. Convert the unused underground parking to a pool and I will return. :)

Overall not bad. Nice staff, easy to find. Gave maps and advice to events and attractions. Free parking, internet and ... continental breakfast a plus. Great price and not a bad location for those who dont mind a walk to and from the attractions. If you want to see the falls on a budget and you dont mind walking this could be the place for you.

Not what we expected
Randy Oct 14, 2009
The Glengate is not a 3-star hotel nor brand new as advetised. It is in fact worse than a standard 2-star and only remodeled ... from its old self. But the rooms are still old and somewhat dirty. Our experience was not exactly pleasant.

Cheap for a great hotel. The location is okay, with a car, you get in dowtwon in a couple of minutes and if you like to walk, ... you're in downtown in 10 - 15 minutes. Go for it if you have s small budget and if you want a more quiet place.

Good, basic accomodation - great price.
Coral K. Oct 8, 2009
Although this hotel is listed as "new" - it is not - it has, I think, been renovated. The rooms are clean, everything works ... and the staff was very nice and friendly. The underground parking was very cramped and only accommodated small cars, but I got used to it. The free continental breakfast was in another facility.

Not good
Couple in Love Oct 4, 2009
The staff was nice but when we checked in, we were supposed to get a Queen or King size bed and were told there were no more ... available. Also, the mattresses were cheap and there was cardboard under the mattress to help support it. One more thing, we did not sleep at all our second night due to the fact that the people in the room above us were still partying and screaming until about 4 in the morning and no one from the hotel made them quiet down.

Great Experience
Niagara girl Aug 4, 2009
The location was nice because it wasn't exactly in the heart of everything, but it was definitley walking distance to the ... falls. I liked being out of the chaos but close enough to walk to it. Our keys got deactivated twice and we had to walk back downstairs both times to have them reactivate it at the front desk, but other than than, the rooms were nice and the service was great.

The Red Chateau has AMAZING food. It's not advertised a whole lot as it's not a big restaurant, but I can easily say it was the best food I've ever had.

Nice room, amenities missing
changer Jul 4, 2009
Nice, large, clean room. But the amenities that are supposed to be there are not. No wi-fi in the rooms, but it is in the ... lobby. No free continental breakfast. No fitness area. No pool. No shuttles. But as I stated the room was nice, large, clean, I had a private balcony, free parking, 20 minute brisk walk to the falls, nice staff, felt secure---and the price at $55/night was right. I just wanted breakfast, a treadmill, and wi-fi (in my room) and I couldn't complain.

Really Cheap
Scotty Tourist May 15, 2009
Beds were extremly uncomfortable, under our mattress the box spring was supported by cardboard packing boxes. Towels were ... very rough and thin and also in short supply. Hallways were very dark with very few lights turned on, also strange odor in rooms and hallways. Phone calls from outside to the front desk were never answered, my family called several times with no response from hotel staff. Continental breakfast consisted of small stale muffins, croissants and day old bagels. Breakfast started at 8:00am not suitable for travellers.
