Another great long weekend in Hamilton
16v Nov 16, 2009
Our second visit to the Hamilton Princess this year was great. On arrival, much to our surprise, we were upgraded to a ... harbor view suite; a plush king sized bed with full bath on one side and a well appointed sitting room on the other. The only thing missing was access to the small fridge (it was in the locked wetbar). Cocktails on the patio overlooking Hamilton Harbor at sunset were fantastic! The entire staff were super helpful and personable - everyone we encountered were quick to offer "good morning/afternoon/evening", making us feel welcome

Hamilton Princess is a five minute walk to Front St shopping, dining, and nightlife. We recommend Harry's at The Waterfront on Pitts Bay for late afternoon drinks where you might just happen to meet the owner at the corner seat on the bar. Bartender "Fletch" is the man!

Went to Bermuda by myself thinking in was in the carribean, surprised and dissappointed to find out it's off the ... Carolinas. Water was to cold to go in, cloudy skies & town was devoid of any life during X-mas holiday. Lonely going... Hotel staff advised me to reserve a taxi for 15 Min. ride back to airport, In the morning there was 7 taxis out front for 7 seven travellers all heading to the ONE & ONLY airport. No wonder the hotel does not provide a shuttle. $35 Taxi back + tip Each adds up to big$$$ for the islanders. Have a beautiful day...

We took the bus into town and bought a 3 day pass that was good for the bus system and ferry system which can take you all ... over Bermuda for a total of 28.00, great value (you do need 4.50 in quarters to get on the bus at the airport). Close to town and great restaurants. People are extremely friendly and the island is so clean and beautiful.

My stay at the hotel was during hurricane Bill. The staff handled everything well and was helpful in every way. I was a Gold ... Club guest which I'm sure helped the level of the positive experience. If you can afford it - it's worth it! Access to the Southampton Princess was also a nice perk - great private beach.

It's hard to get around in Bermuda. No sidewalks = walking can be dangerous. Rented scooters are also suicidal, as are pedal bikes. The roads are very narrow making it hard for even cars and buses. Taxis are very expensive, and buses are OK but you need to know what you are doing and where you are going. Don't know how folks get around really!???

Traveler type: Couples
If you plan on traveling around the island, the best value is a bus/ferry pass. For example, a four day adult pass (for unlimited bus and ferry use)is only $35. Using public transportation was a really great way to see the island. A very important tip: blue bus stop poles mean the bus is headed away from Hamilton, pink means it's headed towards the city.

The Hamilton ferry terminal, a five-minute walk from the hotel, provides access to most parts of the island. You may obtain ferry schedules and buy single- or multi-day passes from the hotel concierge. Doing so will eliminate the hassle of having to buy last-minute ferry tokens (and bus fare, for that matter!). Definitely take advantage of public transportation, as taxi fares are astronomical! And: DON'T RENT SCOOTERS! They are accidents-waiting-to-happen!
