Nice, but could be better
The hotel was good, but it was showing some signs of wear. The casual eatery was closed for most of my stay which left very ... little in the way of dining choices. The hotel is situated in a great location, but if you don't have a car, there isn't much within walking distance to enjoy besides Sea World.

Great Hotel!
Loved the hotel and location! Was close to everything! The only thing I didn't like was that a continental breakfast would ... have been nice too. And most hotels that we've stayed in before had free Wi Fi

Relaxation
The Dana was a great hotel to stay at and actually enjoy San Diego, Our room was about 2 mins walking distance to the bay. & ... we had our own backyard with a private gate to the pool. it was a lovely experience, clean friendly staff. very convinent location to some of San Diego's best fun. very private location too. the rooms are a tad small, but acceptable. i would say if you have children, maybe not cause of how crammed. i give it a 4 star overall. i definatly will be going back here

nice surroundings
first 3 nights were miserable. very noisy rooms, child crying all night next door. Kids overhead running. very poor sound ... proofing. was moved to different room across grounds then was moved again as they had room pre booked for following night which they had overlooked. would not recommend place for quiet R&R. clean and great local and staff however. no fitness center to speak of. two cardio machines non functioning.

Pleasant location
This is a nice spot. I will definitely return there when I go back to San Diego. It was right on the marina. You could go ... out and walk along the strand and enjoy the water and boats. Mission beach was a short hop away. The rooms were clean comfortable, and room service was prompt. This was a good hotel experience all around.

Lovely
In town for the Chargers-Jets game and location was very convenient. 5 minute car ride to the trolley in Old Town - super ... cheap and convenient ($5 all-day pass). Also there to relax and eat! easy to do at The Dana. Jacuzzi and pool were gorgeous. Most places say "heated pool" but they are lying. this pool was perfect temp for swimming - and it was very cold out at night! 2 restaurants on premises. 1 fancy, 1 casual. the Blue Pearl (casual) was great. Food, service, & prices were great. Online reviews, while mostly positive left us very confused and nervous. We stayed in a 2nd floor room facing the marina. rooms were clean and there was no smell, as some people said (hello? it's a marina, people - it smells like the ocean!) room looked newly renovated. great beds, huge TV (but no HBO). no problem with the hot water in the shower (another complaint we read). only negatives were having to pay $16 per day for parking - seemed ridiculous - and the heating/ac. it was VERY humid in the room. i'm usually complaining about how dry the heater is in a hotel, but this was the opposite. the sheets and carpet even felt damp. a little uncomfortable, but we didn't spend much time in the room. We would definitely stay there again. the view of the marina and the jacuzzi alone were well worth the money!

The best place I have ever stayed
I came to San Diego to get away from sub-zero weather in Montana. I was completely overwhelmed by the fabulous service. The ... staff went above and beyond with everything they did. Everyone was extremely friendly and down to earth. I will be coming out in August with my kids. I am going to cancel my arrangements in Oceanside, and reschedule with you. I will recommend you to everyone.

Great getaway!!
The location was perfect for going to SeaWorld and to Mission Beach. We never had to leave the area. The pool and hottub were ... absolutely gorgeous (and heated). We were able to enjoy them even though it rained. The view of the bay and the boats from the room and from the pool was lovely. The room was beautiful and updated, and the balcony was great. My 8-year-old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would definitely stay there again!

Even though there is a shuttle to Seaworld, we drove and were able to go back to the hotel to change after we got drenched on the rides. Re-entry to the park was free, and by the time we went back (about 5:30pm) there was no charge for parking. The drive from the hotel to SeaWorld takes about 3 minutes.

Directly across the highway from the hotel is a place you can buy seafood/burgers. This is great for take out. The prices are so cheap and the food is good. I would not eat in as the place smells like fish and the table and chairs are not much to speak about. Heard about the place from the bus driver. Also, walk across the bridge and up to the rollercoaster. It's your typical CA. beach town and a beautiful ocean. If you want to stay closer to the beach try Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach or Mission Beach.
