disapointing
I had stayed at this hotel several years ago and it was superb, shame it has gone downhill. The staff was not helpful at all ... and they didn't care about anything except yapping on the phone. There was no bellman on site to help with the bags and we had to carry them around on our own. Every service in the Hotel required payment on the spot including the valet, restaurant and the staff charged a resort fee for things we weren't made aware were available. The rooms and bathrooms had peeling paint, noisy because of the staff slamming doors, the bath tiles were broken and fell off the shower. No Minibar as stated, no wifi (was broken) and staff didn't care about the stay. I would not stay there again if my life depended on it and if they paid me.

nice hotel in great location spacious ro
Most of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a great location right in the heart of South Beach, two ... blocks from the beach. I loved the spacious rooms and bathroom. My only complaint is the valet service. You have to call 20 minutes in advance to get your car and on one occasion we waited over half an hour for our car. The hotel does not have a pool. TV is kind of small.

What A Dump!
This place was a disaster. We booked and paid for 'junior suites' but got tiny rooms without even a chair in them. We had ... to move from the first two rooms we had because the doors wouldn't lock from the outside. The air conditioner was either on or off, the temperature control didn't work at all. When we checked out it took them fully a half hour to find our car that they had valet parked. It wasn't till we threatened to call the police and report a stolen car that they managed to find ours. The free continental breakfast consisted of a loaf of white bread and a loaf of wheat bread and a toaster. A complete joke!! Do not stay here, you will regret it!!

Quaint Hotel with Stellar Service
This was a very quaint hotel tucked into the action only 3 blocks from the beach. The staff was First Class and the Spa ... Staff was great. (The Spa was however a little pricey.) We only stayed one night but we were well within walking distance to the action and were able to just sit out on the patio and relax for a while too. I highly recommend this hotel if your looking for an affordable place to stay close to the action where you want to be taken good care of!

Not worth the money- not four star!!!
The hotel is nothing like it shows in the picture. The elevator is small enough to only fit one person. When we arrived in ... our room the sheets had holes and stains on them. the room was not very well equipped with standard items. The tv was mounted on a piece wood. the refridge was on the floor and not working. All through out the night you can hear doors slamming and people talking in the hallways Made it very hard for people to sleep. Definitely would not stay here again. Only great thing about hotel was location.

great location, the rest is average
The location is great, not right in the heart of all the action but a couple streets over so it didnt get too loud at ... night. We arrived early and were hoping for an early check-in. The front desk didnt even check to see if our room was done it was an immediate no. The girl at the front was completely rude and unprofessional. When we went back to finally check-in the guy was nice but seemed like he had no clue what he was doing. When we finally got to the room it looked like they had started to remodel and then didn't do any finishing work. The tv was on a plywood corner mount with the cables coming up to it covered in tape. The bathroom door would not close or latch since it was hung poorly. The bed squeaked with every move, but was suprisingly comfortable. Windows were double paned so it was good at keeping the outside noise out but the door to the hall didn't fit the frame and the floors are laminate wood so you could hear EVERYTHING coming in from the hall. Overall, great location, spotty guest service, "South Beach" affordable, but don't go with great expectations.

Try "Grazie" italian restaurant! Amazing handmade pasta! Great service! Moderately priced, but worth the money! Pizza place across the street is really good. The slices are huge and affordable. Be careful when buying drinks at the cafes on ocean and collins. ASK BEFOREHAND we paid $16 for a half flute mimosa!!

the good and not so good
Great deco building. Exceptionally large rooms with sofa, but window shades let in too much light in the morning. There was ... no reading light by the bed and the phone was across the room. There was a large armoire but no chest with draws to store clothing. Tiny bars of soap didn't last the day. The stopper in the tub was set permanently about half an inch above grade and it was difficult to avoid stubbing your toes against it. The glass tub enclosure without door was too narrow and allowed a lot of water to escape to the floor. Continental breakfast to eat inside or out was a nice touch. The in-house restaurant is very good and recommended. Excellent food and friendly helpful staff. The hotel location is very good. Two blocks off the beach--a quiet spot in the middle of a busy neighborhood with great access to clubs and shops. Front office staff was friendly, helpful and made you feel welcome.

Lovely art deco in great location
The hotel is beautiful and charming, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. This was my second stay in South ... Beach, and the location was perfect for the price. My main complaint is the hidden (and mandatory) resort fee. Prior to making my reservation, I didn't see anything about this. It might have been there, but I certainly didn't notice it. For $15 per day, we were supposed to get continental breakfast, beach towels and chairs, and free wireless. Continental breakfast was a joke. A few muffins, coffee, and overripe bananas don't constitute breakfast in my mind. Plus, the breakfast server was unbelievably unhelpful. The beach chairs smelled as well. If the hotel is hard up for cash, just roll this into the room rate rather than call this poor services to my attention with an added fee.

Simply Wonderful!!!
The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are decorated beatifully. The staff is awesome, I was greeted with a smile and a hello ... from every single person working at this hotel. I needed some homemade cheesecakes stored for a friend after we checked out--my request was handled quickly and with a smile. I loved this hotel and encountering a staff that was friendly warm and accomodating made our stay that much better. The hotel is in the heart of southbeach so everything we wanted to go to was within a short walk or a very short cab ride. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Oh one other thing that is most important to mention is how incredibly comfortable our bed was...we felt like we were sleeping on clouds. I have only good things to say about this hotel and it's wonderful staff. Thank you for making our weekend perfect!!

When I arrived, the car valet was prompt, the room clean, the hotel classic Art Deco. Location, just walking distance to the ... beach, Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road - couldn't be beat. However, I required WiFi for business which was NOT available - at this time - anywhere in the hotel other than in the lobby. Valet service for my car declined dramatically to the point where I had to wait over a half-hour. And the valet was nowhere to be found when returning. You can get your business done, but the hotel is not geared for that purpose.

Good location for price
Nice clean art deco hotel for a reasonable price. Seems family friendly. Several european families had children. Halls and ... room floors are wood (noisy). [...] says resort fee when checking out is $12, but hotel has increased to $15 (plus tax). Hotel located on street with lots of small shops and dinning. Only block from street with lots of nightclubs and dinning. Two blocks from Ocean Drive and beach. Rooms are art deco but basic.

+ location on washington ave. walking distance to ocean drive. good for 1-3 nights. good deal (65 $/night). room was clean ... and comfortable. - resort fee!! wi-fi didn´t work. breakfast: only toast and muffins. room 319 is on the stairways behind the exit door. heat didn´t work: only 50° during the night. parking 30 $/night. It´s better to use public parking on the street which is free from midnight to 9 am. staff not really friendly. We would stay again but only for 1 or 2 nights and for the same price.

On Ocean drive there is a place called MANGOS. The waiters/waitresses danced on the bar to the sounds of the live band. This is a CUban restaurant. The food and drinks were good. Also try Wet Willies. The alcohol is served in the form of slushies. I had attitude adjustment and call a cab. They were VERY GOOD! This had me feeling Sooo Good!
