Top notch hotel and service. No complaints, staff extremely friendly and accomadating. The only negative is that when you ... go for a walk looking for the shops and restaurants they are more geared to a younger crowd. This place is steps from the Arizona State university. Great pool and fitness are.

REALLY nice

We came to Arizona for the weekend to take care of a brief family event. Decided to treat ourselves to a "mini" vacation as ... my husband was out of work and recently became employed again (YEAH) We wanted to stay in Tempe, close to the fun and excitement of the Mill Street area - Doesnt' get much better. We particularly enjoyed the fun at the Big Bang piano bar - what great musicians and tons of fun!! Dinner at Z tejas was excellent, and service was above average. Only minor complaint was our room was in back over the outside areas of several Mill street taverns that patrons partied until the wee hours (we weren't to far ahead of them) Some guests of the hotel decided to party all night and were a bit noisy in the hall. But the room was nice, clean and generously sized. ALL the service from the valet to the front desk to the concierge were exceptionally friendly. Thanks, we hope to come back again.

quiet AND close to all the action!
New to AZ Sep 22, 2009
My boyfriend and I stayed here while in Tempe for a weekend music festival. It's a great location, one block from Tempe Town ... Lake, and close to all the action on Mill Ave. ...Yet super quiet. We didn't use the pool or fitness center; we pretty much just went out, crashed and headed out in the morning, but it was great. Would absolutely stay here again!!

Nicole the road tripper... Aug 19, 2009
My friend and I were only in town for one night, we wanted to stay in a nice hotel near Mill St. and we found the best one! ... Everything was 5 stars to us, except that they only had smoking rooms left, they tried to spray it, but it ended up getting into all of our clothing, and we had to wash everything when we got back. Other than the smoking room, the hotel was OUTSTANDING. I'd only stay there again, worth every penny! I called for 4 towels, they brought them up and then called to check on me and make sure I got everything I needed. They were one of the best hotels i've ever stayed in!

The hotel is in walking distance to wonderful eating establishments and night life. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at a Greek ... restaurant less than a block from the hotel. Only four blocks from Arizona State University, the hotel is near all the hot spots in Tempe. Wonderful accomodations and fantastic service, from parking to front desk to cleaning crew!

A good choice
From the West Jun 13, 2009
This hotel worked very well for me, a single woman over 60 travelling alone without a car. The rooms are very nicely ... decorated and there is a lovely courtyard in the center of the property for sitting outside. Since I did not have a car, the shuttle to and from the airport was handy. The light rail stop is only a block away for easy access to quite a few attractions in downtown Phoenix (about 20 minutes to half an hour away). The restaurant is small, but serves a nice meal in the evening. The hotel is walking distance from Arizona State. There are quite a few restaurant choices within walking distance, and I felt comfortable walking in the evening around the hotel. The environment might be a little too lively for me during the academic year, but I visited early in June, when the student population seemed relatively small. The staff is very helpful. Since the hotel is close to the Phoenix Airport, there is some noise from planes landing and taking off. However, I would recommend this hotel for its convenient location, pleasant decor and courtyard, and helpful staff.

Went 2 ASU baseball game, basketball game & spring training game. Ate, drank, shopped on Mill Street. Valet parking was ... quick, could also self-park. Temperature was in the low 70's, but able to sunbathe out by the pool area since the pool is somewhat sheltered & made it warmer. Loved the cabana restaurant right by the pool. Beautiful & serene open air lobby.

When we visit our son as ASU, we always stay at the Mission Palms. It's close to campus & gives our son a break from the ... college apartment life. Wonderful staff, good breakfast, beautiful grounds & who can complain about red geraniums & orange trees in February. The bathrooms could use a little bit of an update soon...but everything else is fantastic. We will be back in April:)

If you stay here, you have to go across the field and hike up Hayden Hill (the hill with the big 'A'). It's fairly rough terrain, but once you've made it to the top, the view is worth the hike. Beautiful @ sunrise.
