horrific, dangerous location

This hotel was NOT the one that appeared in the add, if it was, that must have been the hidden back of the hotel or an ... altered image. The hotel was in the middle of "crack alley" We heard police sirens ALLLLL night long. Did NOT feel safe. Would not stay there again if I was paid to stay. The Hardees next door opens at 4 am. We heard traffic for that through the paper thin walls all night long. The beds were beyond horrible. I traveled to Williamsburg for my daughter to try out for an Olympic Development soccer team and didn't drive the tryout day so that she could get a good night's sleep. NEVER< never never again, would i stay here. not safe for children, let alone adults , as we watched the illicit activities directly from our window. there 's a reason it' s a "deal" ...not worth it people. free continently breakfast, basically consisted of bagels. very sketch place.

You Get What You Pay For!
Curious Traveler Oct 13, 2009
If you are looking for a plain, cheap, run of the mill hotel in a good location, this is it. We booked this hotel solely ... based on it's CHEAP rates. We paid 29.99/night. There was nothing wrong with this room. Of course, the hotel is a bit old and run down. The staircases leading up to the rooms were not the safest. I tripped several times as they were uneven and in need of repair. Also the back end of the hotel is in a very dark area near a wooded section and train track. I never felt unsafe in the room but I wouldn't have hung around outside or in the parking lot after dark. The train went by four or five times a night and would wake my husband and I with hearts beating almost everytime! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean, nothing fancy, simply old and worn in. I'd recommend this hotel to someone looking for a steal of a deal who isn't fussed by the downtrodden look of the place.

Do Not Stay Here!!!
Frequently traveling military family Sep 22, 2009
When we arrived, we had to be buzzed in to the office - first red flag. Then when I walked in to the tiny lobby I noticed the ... counter where the continental breakfast was supposed to be; the counter might have been 12" x 36", with one coffee pot. I was issued our room, and told to park under the building, take the elevator up. We noticed three transient/homeless people hanging around the lobby and the parking lot, plus two trucks full of personal belongings, like people were living out of the trucks. As we took the stairs up, we noticed the stairs were dirty and rusty, and saw two pitbulls chained outside one of the rooms. The pool was covered up and surrounded by a tall chain link fence - so it was closed for the season, I guess. Questionable looking people were standing out on the walkway smoking and looking suspiciously at us as we walked to our room. The room was clean enough, but the whole place gave us really bad vibes. After being in the room for all of ten minutes, we decided we were safer to just drive home and not stay the night. Our room was not refundable, and the manager was not there when we called Orbitz to complain. Orbitz would not refund our room/night since the manager was not there. We will not book with Orbitz again, and will warn everyone we know not to stay at this Super 8.

Jorge Aug 21, 2007
The Motel 8 in Wlliamsburg, VA gave us towels that smelled awful the bathroom smelled mildewy. The carpets were dirty and had ... a musty smell in the room no other rooms were available and we arrived around midnight for a place to rest before we got on the road again. We would never visit this motel again or recommend anyone to stay there. THIS WAS THE MOTEL 8 FROM HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do You Hear A Train?
Reuben Aug 9, 2007
We were please to have a clean, cool room, especially since the temperatures outside were in the upper 90's. The biggest ... drawback was the trains at night. One such train lasted a long time and it was almost impossible to get back to sleep.

Mark Aug 3, 2007
The Hotel is very unkept with significant dust on the curtains and walls, it was the black mold growing on the shower curatin ... that pushed me over the top. We checked out a day early because I could not stand the thought of staying there another night. The Hotel staff was friendly in what little contact I had with them and the location was ideal for Williamsburg. You definetly get what you pay for, I would suggest spending a little more elsewher.

staff was ok at front desk, changed my room from smoking to non smoking .When I got to the room the floor looked as if the ... room had not been thoroughly cleaned, floor was dirty spider web on A/C dead roach on floor . wanted to leave ASAP and did . paid for one night and did not even use the room for an hour. went out to look for another place right away, and did.I have used this service before for a friend and he had a bad experience.Iam usually on that does not complain or want to make anyone look bad ,but I hate thinking you get what you pay for in a bad way.
