Great stay for families

Friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms. There are so many expensive hotels in the area, so it was nice to be able to stay in a ... safe and comfortable place and save our money for various outings on our trip. Big thumbs up!

If you want to eat good food, ask the locals where they go. I was recommended a pizza place a 5 min drive away tucked away in a small plaza and that was the best pizza I ever had in my life. If your into quality real itialian pizza, you must visit Pizza Heaven 2675 W Highway 89A, Sedona, AZ (928) 282-0519

For those on their first visit to Sedona, absolutely take the trolley tour that visits some of the attractions and provides a lot of useful local information. We took the A and B tours. Each lasts one hour. One tour is $12 but together they cost $21. These tours are described as the best first thing to do in Sedona and we agree.

If I had to choose a word to discribe super 8, I would use comfortable. A regular size room for two, breakfast every ... morning(not the greatest but it's something), within driving distance of local shops and red rocks, free internet in lobby, a gas station store across the street with all most everything you need.

This hotel is on the main road that goes through the town but a couple of miles from the center. A Safeway market, Harkins ... theater, and numerous dining facilities are within walking distance.

good for the money
Kathy Oct 21, 2008
We were looking for a basic hotel, good price, good location and nothing fancy. The Super 8 in Sedona was all of these. It ... was a little outside the downtown area away from the confusion. The room was a little on the small side but had a refrigerator. We did not spend a lot of time in the room so we didn't mind. There were restaurants in walking distance. The person at the desk was very helpful and there was free use of a computer in the lobby.

When we arrived there ...
Debra Sep 21, 2008
When we arrived there were fans in the halls to dry the carpet-causing humidity. The staff appeared to hold meetings sitting ... at the end of our hallway. The sheets were not fitted-therefore we slid all night long-pillows were't tooooooo bad. The hotel is older, but kept fairly clean. The pool, which was supposed to be heated-was cold. The breakfast-altho written as one of the better ones-consisted of toast, cereal and muffins-juice and coffee. One attendant was seen wiping the trash can top with the same rag she used to wipe the tables. The parking area was very small compared to the number of rooms in the hotel. The room keys sometimes took several tries to get to read. The room was quite expensive for what we got.

Szechuan Restaurant and Martini bar to the east behind a Chase bank. It was wonderful and we considered inexpensive for Sedona. A must go to!

My review of Super 8 Motel - Sedona
Staycie Jun 28, 2007
Good location for the price, view of red rocks from room. Non-smoking policy wasn't enforced. Showers were always lukewarm ... and low pressure. Housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient. Complimentary breakfast was above average. The front desk was friendly and helpful with directions and activity reservations.

good for a roof over your head
Chu-Hao Jun 27, 2007
This is one of cheapest hotel in the area. Hotel looks little old, but seems like staff did a good job on the up keep of it. ... Room is small but clean, again, hotel is old so don't expect too much and for the price you pay. Hotel staff at the front desk could be little bit more friendly to the guest. If you are looking for a roof over your head at night and not spend alot of money, this is it. Just don't expect much it is a old hotel.

Bare Essentials
Kimberle May 19, 2007
The Super 8 had the bare essentials, hair dryer, 2 cup coffee maker, and ice machine. I though it was a great value for the ... price. The continental breakfast was muffins, bagels, coffee, apple juice, and a microwave to heat up your food. The location was great, right down from the Days Inn and other hotels. We ate at the Heartline Cafe (purple building) down the street, which was great. Driving around Sedona can be difficult because the signs for the businesses are low and hard to see until you close enough to turn. The street signs are visable but now there is a lot of contruction and some of the signs for the hiking trails are down. Not many places open after 10 p.m., the Red Planet Diner is open to 11 p.m., down the street from the hotel.

Make sure to take some cash with you, Sedona for whatever reason has problems 'loosing the satellite' and sometimes your debit card will not work.
