Worth consideration

The hotel was an older building, quiet and a good value. Water pressure for the shower wasn't great, but it was effective. ... The bed was hard, but I liked it. I wasn't bothered and would consider this hotel again.

This hint has no bering on the hotel...just an area observation. Very little, if anything is made in Cozumel...including food. I suspect that some if not much of the meals offered may be pre-made, frozen and probably from the mainland. I was disappointed with the food. I had asked for beef enchilatas and was given chicken. I accepted the food without fuss and chalked it up to the language barrier. Some of the chicken was cold as if the dish had been inadequately microwaved. I attribute my illness later in the day to that meal. Be sure the food you order is adequately cooked or heated.

Everything was great. The location was perfect. The breakfast was located two blocks away from the hotel, but definitely ... worth the walk. I had a great experience, the staff was really nice. I will make Bahia my hotel next time I travel to Cozumel.

Buy from the bigger stores rather than the smaller vendors. You might not be able to haggle the prices, but you'll get a better rate. If you pay in dollars, get your change back in dollars. Do not exchange anywhere other than exchange houses

good place to stay for divers!
YC Jul 25, 2009
It was clean enough and hotel staffs are nice and friendly. water pressure for shower is very good!(not toilet) Good place ... to stay for divers! Free breakfast buffet at sister hotel was great, it just 3min to walk from bahia. The only problem was hotel is in main beach street,so it was little noisy at night. especially this season. I really enjoyed staying here.

Couldn't have a better location
PHAT Betty Apr 22, 2009
The Suites Bahia is in an amazing location right on the strip by the ocean. Unfortunately, that means you have to put up with ... the noise from the traffic. The Staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean and the breakfast at the Mexicana was top notch. Jaime (our waiter) was specially friendly and helpful . . . thanks for the Spanish lessons! This is a fantastic hotel for the price, I will definitely stay there in the future but next time I will make a pit stop at Chedraui or Mega to find a bed top foamy first . . . Those are some hard beds!

Attention Divers
Midway Mafia Mar 9, 2009
I have stayed here many times before. It is the perfect place for the diver that does not like the all inclusive hotels. ... Suites Bahia is right across the street from the pier that many dive shops use to pick up divers. There are at least 25 resturants within four blocks and it is only two blocks from the town square. The rooms are not fancy but the air conditioner, hot water, and TV work. It is three stories and there is an elevator. There is always someone at the front desk to assure your safety. Try not to stay in the suites overlooking the water (too much street noise) or the rooms overlooking the town (most over look the wall of the building next door) the best rooms have their owm private balcony and overlook the side street. If you are going to CZM to dive and enjoy the town, this is the place to stay.

Nice Budget Hotel
Chris Mar 3, 2009
This is a nice budget hotel. Great location, nice clean rooms with a fridge and AC. There's a microwave and computer with ... internet downstairs. Included in the price is a great breakfast buffet at another hotel about 2 blocks away. Overall, we couldn't have been happier considering the price we paid. If you're diving, we also recommend Aqua Safari, about 1.5 blocks away. Awesome dive shop.

Excellent downtown location
Terrance Mar 4, 2008
We like the Suites Bahia because of the downtown location. We dive and like all kinds of Mexican food and everything is ... within walking distance from downtown. The hotel is very clean and comfortable with a morning continental breakfast if you wish. There is a computer in the lobby for guests to use. We have stayed here many times and enjoy it very much.
